ATTN: 01 Dodge Ram Fog Lamp Question, Please help me!!! =)
From : justin
Q: alright this is getting ridiculous. i ordered some new hyper-white replacement bulbs for my hi&low beams and fog lamps for my 01 dodge ram sport quad cab and have been having nothing but trouble. the type of fog lamp im looking for has a curved plugin like the one pictured here http//cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/ebayisapi.dllviewitem&rd=1&category=3647 6&item=2449059103 the four sets of 893s that i have ordered off the internet have all had flat plugins like the ones pictured here http//cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/ebayisapi.dllviewitem&category=33710&ite m=2452807226 the problem is on my truck the only way i can get the bulb mounted and have enough slack from the power wire to plug it in is for the plugin to be curved so its pointing down. with the flat plugin the bulb points straight out instead of pointing down and my power wire just does not extend far enough to plug it in. is there some sort of plug in adapter that will add a rounded edge to the flat plugin or do they make an extension for the power cable on my ram thats plugging into the fog light or does anyone know of any places that sell the curved 893 blue style any help would be greatly appreciated. justin krosch 2001 solar yellow dodge ram sport slt + quad cab 5.9l v8 http//snow.prohosting.com/2k1dodge/ .

you mean you need a right angled plug in. that seems odd as mine are the straight design. i think the problem you are running into is due to the bulb number you are ordering. you need to refer to the 4 digit number i.e. 9007 for the low beams if i recall correctly. i have the piaa 9007 bulbs in my 01 qc sport 2500 with straight plug and plenty of wiring to fit. bear in mind that the high and low beam are different parts so order accordingly. -- laszlo almasi carolina watercraft works inc. 2810-5d yonkers road raleigh nc 27604 loballeng@mindspring.com alright this is getting ridiculous. i ordered some new hyper-white replacement bulbs for my hi&low beams and fog lamps for my 01 dodge ram sport quad cab and have been having nothing but trouble. the type of fog lamp im looking for has a curved plugin like the one pictured here http//cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/ebayisapi.dllviewitem&rd=1&category=3647 6&item=2449059103 the four sets of 893s that i have ordered off the internet have all had flat plugins like the ones pictured here http//cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/ebayisapi.dllviewitem&category=33710&ite m=2452807226 the problem is on my truck the only way i can get the bulb mounted and have enough slack from the power wire to plug it in is for the plugin to be curved so its pointing down. with the flat plugin the bulb points straight out instead of pointing down and my power wire just does not extend far enough to plug it in. is there some sort of plug in adapter that will add a rounded edge to the flat plugin or do they make an extension for the power cable on my ram thats plugging into the fog light or does anyone know of any places that sell the curved 893 blue style any help would be greatly appreciated. justin krosch 2001 solar yellow dodge ram sport slt + quad cab 5.9l v8 http//snow.prohosting.com/2k1dodge/ .

yeah youre right justin. i crawled under there and remember deciding that rather than installing higher intensity bulbs on my foglamps which are useless as far as light output is concerned i had been planning on replacing the entire assembly with an aftermarket unit hella maybe that has a superior reflector and lense design. i think the light output from the oem accent lights as they should be called will never be worth much even with the brightest replacement bulb you could ever find for it. -- laszlo almasi carolina watercraft works inc. 2810-5d yonkers road raleigh nc 27604 loballeng@mindspring.com yea starting with 02 dodge uses diff headlights and foglights. on the 01 sport is 9007 for low beams 9004 for high beams and 893 for fog lamps. .
