ABS & Brake lights problem fixed!
From : ed
Q: ive seen a lot of posts about abs & brake lights illuminating at about 40 mph on dodge trucks but none of the suggestions fixed my problem. however i finally did find the fix and it only costs $16.00 and about 15 minutes time. 99 dodge ram with rawl. abs and brake lights illuminated and cruise control didnt work. fix tested the brake light switch connected to the brake pedal braket as described in the dodge shop manual by disconnecting its wiring harness and checking resistance with an ohm meter across the 2 pins closest to the plunger with the plunger all the way out brake pedal depressed. it should not be completely open or shorted. mine was open until i played with it for a while then it was shorted. the new part was only $16 from the dealer came with instructions and didnt require any tools to install. note because the brake light switch is an install and adjust once item if it is ever removed a new one needs to be installed. .
