Q: on fri 05 nov 2004 121610 -0500 mjc superbttle@yahoo.com wrote hi thank you for your time. i have a 1991 dodge dakota le extended cab 4 wheel drive with the 5.2 8cyl automatic. i am having 2 problems with my transmission. first i have a overdrive problem. when i get to about 65 the truck begins to shift into and then out of overdrive. the only way i can get around it is to press the o/d off button. the second problem is when i am at a stop light not all the time but a lot the truck will dip in rpms and come back quickly resulting in a small but noticable lurch. i had the fluid filter and gasket changed and the problems seemed to go away for about a week. then we went on vacation for a week. we drove almost 500 miles 1 way to baltimore. the truck performed flawlessly. there was none of the above problems. i just got back to massachusetts and it is starting over again. is there anyone who can help me thank you again for your time just a guess from reading posts here for a few years but the od problem sounds like it could be the speed sensor... .

craig christian wrote hi i have done a bit of research and i have not been able to find any real information about the blowby bottle. i have read that it needs to be emptied every oil change but i have no idea where it resides on the 2004 cummins 600. additionally i have looked and looked for valvoline premium blue sythetic oil which is what cummins recommends for this engine. the only place in dallas is the cummins distributor which is near downtown yuck. does anyone know if i can get this oil online i talked to valvoline and cummins and they said no. btw my truck kicks ass. thanks craig c. 2004 ram 2500 4x4 qc graphite. the cummins places in dallas are in grand prairie off 360 and in mesquite near i-20. both are nowhere near downtown. check your white pages for cummins southern plains. cummins specifies not using synthetic oil until after the engine is broken in about 20k miles or so. .

then once again you would be wrong. typical statement from you offering no proof no facts and no logic. fact is after gwbs second term this whole thing could turn into a bigger dogfight since the dems wont need a candidate to beat someone specific. fact is if nader slips completely from the screen since he didnt wage a write in campaign this is likely his last serious attempt to get on the ballot the resulting void will leave another 1% of voters available to one of the major candidates. fact is as campuses organize voter registration and states get more motor voter programs in place and people registered through them the registered voter numbers will increase. fact is unless the race is once again as close as this one record numbers of for and against would have to be cast since even one half of a percentage point either way would create a new record. fact is youve got nothing to substantiate my being wrong. max life liberty and the pursuit of any jackass that threatens it. embellished usnavy slogan .

if the sensor were on backwards and broken would i even be able to drive the car let alone get 28 mpg on a trip of 1000 round trip miles the car runs good above about 1200 to 1300 rpm. -- budd if it wasnt important enough for you to take time to vote then its not important to me to listen to you whine about who won or lost. you can put the tps sensor on backwards and it wont work...meaning if you flip it around it will screw on and not give a reading this will also damage the sensor no codes but ill clean the throttle body and see what happens. we just got back from a run to phoenix to the wal-mart . . .ok just kidding. went to visit my youngest in school down there and the little bomb did real good other than a bit of surge around town. lol even surprised a few ricer wannabes bg -- budd sorry budd mike is probably out checking the temps of his heated seats... g the tps on your 3 liter is non-adjustable. it only fits on one way with no tweaking allowed. is there any other codes stored the hesitation may be a dirty throttle body which is common on the 3.0 denny mike i just found out from my son that he had the tps off my lebaron 95 3.0 when he was trying to replace the map sensor. is there a specific adjustment procedure to installing it i have slight surge at low speed and occasional hesitation. thanks! -- budd if it wasnt important enough for you to take time to vote then its not important to me to listen to you whine about who won or lost. .

miles wrote bob wrote i refuse to purchase a vehicle with one of these devices.. quite a number of cars have these devices already. in most states they do not have to tell you its on the vehicle. for model year 2005 my understanding is that over 50% of new cars have such a device already. you want a new car youre going to get one. but i dont like them either. wonder if my new 2004 durango has one since it is completely computer controlled. cant even turn on a friggn light without a computer saying its ok. cell phones also have gps tracking capability now. there was a guy at work with a work issue nextel he was doing about 90 on the freeway his supervisor called him on the phone and was like your driving a little fast arent you since then a bulletin came out saying that the gps tracking will not be used for disciplinary purposes yeah right! .

budd cochran wrote the only way a 747 can accelerate faster than a dragster is to put a small nuke under the tail and light the fuse. lets see how the dragster does when its loaded with the same weight as a 747. at the strip its common to see jet cars vs. funny cars. usually the funny car will win because the jet takes awhile to get moving out of the hole. but the jets top speed is way above the funny car at the finish. in a 1/2 mile race the jet would win every time nope by then it would by then it would have lifted off. unless of course the rabbit was drivingg roy i see boredom has set in.... have fun ill be sure to jab back... g bugs .

tom your candidate lost plain and simple. all the talking about what went wrong all the placing of blame etc. no longer matters. the public and the electoral college have decided. john kerry was mature enough to accept defeat and not turn the election into another legal mess unlike gore. the question now is do we continue to whine moan and complain which will only serve to further tear our fine country apart or do we be as our nations name says we are the united states of america remember your history even the great roman empire crumbled from dissention within. -- budd tbone wrote or mike maybe the 51% of americans that voted for him know more than you two do! or maybe that 51% cast their vote out of fear and ignorance. actually it turned out to be 52% but you are probably right. they are all wrong and you alone got it right tom. you are such a hero tom. now you are whining like a child. when you look at the map and see what states and with what population in them voted for him i am more right than you want to think. from what you said in hear your vote for him was a fear vote and perhaps this is why you are whining about what i said now. doesnt matter if 49 states were red at 52% it still adds up to 52% of the population. on the other hand as long as you continue to view it in the manner you are the longer you will continue to lose the elections. keep up the good work............. you really should use punctuation every now and then. it would make your posts more understandable. 52% for a sitting president is not all that impressive especially with the level of fear being spun by the right wing. thats ok though i think that the country can stand 4 more years of looking like a giant bunch of assholes. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving .

i just bought a 02 automatic 3.9l dakota with 9k miles. i have unfortuntely just noticed a slight thud noise and accompanying vibration about .5-1.0 seconds after coming to a complete stop. almost sounds like the tranny heading into first a bit late... any ideas it still has some warranty left but i would prefer to have an idea before i take it in... thanks!! .

i has to i would say. the only way a 747 can accelerate faster than a dragster is to put a small nuke under the tail and light the fuse. it seems i remember hot rod comparing bersteins car to an f-18 cat shot off a carrier . . the jet lost. i think i remember that article a few years back but the catapult won. they staged the test on one of the training cats at some un-remembered base in the southwest. i was very disappointed cause i was sure the jet would loose due to the weight of the beast. denny .

i have a 2001 dodge ram 4x4 diesel. i was backing up a very steep drivewayi would guess 35 degrees or more and when i got to the top my truck must have dumped at least a quart of oil. it looks like there is some sort of overflow tube coming off the front top of the engine. i assume it spilled the oil out as some form of engine protection. i just wanted to find out why this happened.. just some quick added info 1my engine oil was not over full. on level ground it was about 1/2 way down the add mark on the dipstick. 2my truck does has 100000k+ but it does not leak or burn oil. 3truck was not in 4x4 mode when i was backing up. 4truck had a load of about 1200lbs on it. 5when i drove down the hill the oil pressure dropped and check engine light came on. 6i drove home that night and had no problems of additional oil loss or loss of oil pressure. if you could email me with an answer i would appreciate it. later bill it sounds like the bottle at the end of the breather is full. empty it. or do what some have done and extend and reroute the hose towards the back of the truck and do away with the bottle. or take off the factory bottle extend the hose take a empty rolaids bottle drill a hole in the cap stick the hose through cap put a wire tie on the hose so the hose wont pull out of the cap screw the bottle back on the cap and secure the whole deal. oh drill a few holes in the bottle near the top so it will breath and watch your clearances. roy .
