i just wanted to follow up on this even though nobody has replied. i purchased the speed sensor from my dodge dealer for $35. i replaced it myself and it didnt fix the problem at all. so i have taken my truck back in for service. hopefully theyll be able to get the problem fixed for good this time. ill make another post when i get my truck back to let you know what they tried this time. - russ i have the same problem on my 2003 dodge ram 1500 i have taken it to the dealer twice and theyve fixed it both times however when im on the highway for a couple of hours the problem returns. i have decided to research the problem myself and based on everything ive found online the problem seems to be a faulty abs sensor or speed sensor which apparently is located on top of the rear differential. i am going to look into replacing it myself if it looks easy enough before i take it back to the dealer and ask them to replace it. can you let me know if youve been able to solve the problem yet i noticed your post is about 6 weeks old so im wondering if you ever got it fixed thanks! - russ once in awhile the break light and abs light come on then the cruise will not work. then after about two or three days the lights go off and the cruise starts working. any suggestions .

i took it in last thursday aug. 19 and they had it back to me by the end of that day. this time they replaced the abs module. the service manager insisted that this was the root of the problem all along and that i shouldnt have any issues in the future. i just wanted to follow up on this even though nobody has replied. i purchased the speed sensor from my dodge dealer for $35. i replaced it myself and it didnt fix the problem at all. so i have taken my truck back in for service. hopefully theyll be able to get the problem fixed for good this time. ill make another post when i get my truck back to let you know what they tried this time.
