99 ram fan clutch

Q: i have a 2001 1500 quad cab w/ 5.9l engine. im looking for msd plug wires online but most that ive seen stop at model year 2000. where can i get msd or magnecor wires for my 2001 vehicle .

8 cyl 4.7 litre standard shift is there any known issues with the brakes you know of smoke from front left fender well. smelt like asbestos burning. truck was pulling hard to the left. parked let it cool down got back in and drove to mechanic. drove like nothing ever happened. had him pull the wheel and said nothing was wrong. is it possible the brakes are hanging up i never experienced this before. this is like the 3rd time something funky is going on with the brakes and it doesnt even have 30000 miles. chinese manufactured parts if so i will buy all aftermarket brake parts for the truck. .

on sun 23 may 2004 085658 gmt denny wddodge@woh.rr.com wrote thanks denny... a friend is picking up an after market one for me this morning and well change it today just to be safe... were going to be pulling the trailer on an 1800 mile round trip next week so we dont want to risk a breakdown and miss meeting the famous redneck!! at least when the clutch fan on the dakota went it was still covered by the 3 year warranty... especially since it also had 2 cracked heads went for the 60k service today and they said that the fan clutch was about to go out why doncha check and make sure its needed first. with the engine off try wiggleing the fan side to side and see if there is any play in it. there might be the very slightest of wiggle but there shouldnt be much. then start the motor up and leave it idle with the a/c on. it may take 15-20 minutes but you will know when the clutch engages by the roaring noise from the fan. if your temp guage is just a needle or two higher than where it normally runs when the fan engages youre ok. not really you but the truck. g the dealer wanted $300 parts & labor to replace it and of course its an excluded item on our extended warranty... %##^^# i know the part is a little pricy but the labor shouldnt have been over about .5-.7 hr. is this a mopar only part or are there aftermarket ones available aftermarkets are available so are wrecking yard ones. they dont fail all that often so i would think a used one would be ok. i dont wrench much any more but ive changed lots of ferd fan clutches in our cougars.. i think its a 1 1/4 wrench and left hand threads and im sure somebody will tell me if im wrong on that. g have fun denny any suggestions sources etc. appreciated.. except from rascally red of course mac mac .

i want to get him together with my kid too.. they live a mile or so apart and are both into working on trucks just approaching it from different ends of the experience level.. your kid probably knows what hes doing!!!!!!!!! bg politics the gentle art of getting votes from the poor and campaign funds from the rich. .
