on sat 05 nov 2005 144042 -0700 just another poster@noaddress.com wrote i posted this several months ago. finally got it fixed early october. replaced the crank positioning sensor. $80.00 - no help. finally broke down and bought a junk-yard computer off a 4wd 318 mine is 2wd. presto. no more shutdowns. the truck seems to have a different personality also. it seems to have more low-end torque - quicker off the line -- or is it just my imagination interesting. dya think the junkyard computer was also from a different state i.e. different emission requirements no. were both from north carolina. i was thinking that dodge engineers may have tweaked up the low end torque range because of the heavier 4wd vehicle and for the need for more slow rpm power in a 4wd. and .. again .. it may just be my imagination. but... the 2mpg loss in fuel milage is not my imagination. it dropped from 17 to 15 mpg. driving is mixed about equally between town rural roads and interstate - mostly to and from work - and my jack rabbit driving style ended -- many years ago. so many garys and clydes ..so.. leroy .
