99 Ram 1500 5.2L AC engaging and disengaging
From : Annonymous
Q: i noticed recently that my ac compressor keeps starting for 3 second shuts off for 10 seconds starts for 3 and shuts off for 10. from what ive seen from some groups searching it may be low on r134a. hopefully thats ok. up until just now my truck turns into a deep-freeze when the air is on. now it just blows room temp air. also recently ive noticed a tapping/ticking sound under the hood when idle that seems to go away when the engine is warm 20 min or so. the only real time ive heard of something like this was a leak in the exhaust manifold but im not smelling anything. i had had a problem in the past with a broken bolt and the dodge dealer replaceed the entire exhaust system from manifold to tailpipe do you think the ac clutch could be ticking while disengaged .

now you know thats not right roy . . i got a third you got a third and dennys got a turd . . er third. -- budd pellets budd dennys got pellets. -- fmb only one b in fmb hmmmm.. another smartass that i can add to my list....... g denny hey rabbit!! you folks have any cold weather or snow supposed to get cold here by tue. roy hey pudge!! not yet. a few flurries now and then its about 35 outside right now. i think tonight maybe 25. not really calling for anything for the next week. the story of my life truck is ready to go and nothing to do. denny pudge huh smartass. my truck is ready to go too. got the blizzaks on all four corners and 320lbs. of wood pellets in the back. be fun to see how it goes in the snow. gotta tell ya once you take the summer tires of ya have to peddle it on dry pavement. probably going to have to stay off the gas and let off the brake easy to get under way. it will be a test for the blizzaks for sure. but then again they worked great with the diesel and the torque. roy i guess the shoe fit...you answered.. bg ya know ifn you had a real truck with one of those funny front differential thingys you wouldnt have to use all those hi-tech tires add in all that un-needed weight in the back and soft pedal it all the time. actually im surprised the ford can spin em even when it is slippery... now that ive thrown a little gas on the fire its back to putting up the christmas tree.... be nice!! vbg denny roy just be glad you aint got heated leather seats or hed be on your ass about that too! no snow in mo yet cept we did have about 4 the day before thanksgiving! mike .

jushil wrote ford is a company that is yet to make a decent car. maybe the orginal mustangs are an exception. every ford i have driven has had serious problems and the dealership garage costs a fortune to buy expensive ford parts. i stay away from fords. there new lineup is something that probably wont make their financial situation any better. as they build cars that have very popular competitorsfreestyle there company is not doing very well. the five hundred is not as good as the chrysler 300 through a motor trend test. the mustang wont sell as well as the orginal mustang as they anticipated. -justin ford has made many great cars and trucks. between my wife two kids and myself we currently own two fords a chevy an olds and a dodge. i have owned several ford cars and trucks in the past as well. i experienced frequent problems with only one car a chevy but i replaced it with another chevy. i didnt get scared about the overall quality of that companys product just because i got stuck with one lemon. i believe all car companies are subject producing a lemon once in a while. it seems that you may have got stuck with more than one. i dont have any complaints about any of the current vehicles owned in our household. they all have been extremely reliable and each of them serve their own purpose very well. quality is comparable in all of them. 02 chevrolet cavalier ls sport coupe. youngest daughter gets the newest car great gas mileage and its sporty. 01 ford expedition. family wagon driven by the better half. comfortable leather with power. its faster than my truck. 99 dodge ram qc 4x4 2500 ctd. my daily driver that also tows the toy to the dragstrip. 98 oldsmobile intrigue. driven hard by my oldest daughter. this one is bulletproof. shes harder on cars than joey chitwood. 73 ford gran torino sport 429 a.k.a. the toy. its just another one of those underpowered fords. .

aha a very good point and well beyond his scope of knowledge but then sos a box of crayons. to be honest ive never seen a coolant heater in a 2 hose when that hose is critical to keep clear since its directly to or from the radiator. second its unlikely a block heater would use the radiator hose due to the amount of energy it would take to heat that cross section of water. third it would be silly to put it there since it means drawing or pushing water through the component most likely to cool the water thats just been heated. that said its possible they exist. however given all the above it means tommy boy is barking up a tree with no quarry amongst the branches. max life liberty and the pursuit of any jackass that threatens it. embellished usnavy slogan .

if youre sure there is a direct effect caused by turning on the fan .. then part of the problem is that your electrical system is suffering from low voltage. this may be due to a faulty alternator. it could have some bad diode circuitry that goes away when warm .. cold circuits shrink opening cracks in solder joints. low voltage would cause all things electrical to suffer in performance. gentlemen thank you for your responses heres an update on my efforts. i had the current battery tested and it was ok however given its age i replaced it anyway since winter is coming and it is the original battery. unfortunately the problem still exists. since tbone mentioned it may be a fuel pump i did confirm that when i turn the key on the fuel pump does at least turn on and make noise; however im not sure how i can actually test it to make sure it is pumping fuel. once the truck gets started and is warmed up fuel delivery does not appear to be a problem since it idles smoothly and acceleration is swift and constant. is it possible that the fuel pump would be temperature sensitve and only show signs of failure when cold i have learned something else about the heater fan too. if i turn the fan on high before i start the engine then it doesnt kill the engine like it does if i turn the fan on high after i start the engine. also something to note is that during the first two to four times that i get it started i usually have to get it started about 5 times before it will stay running if i open the throttle even slightly it will immediately stall the engine. after about the 5th start i can slowly open the throttle and it will stay running. i have to be careful about easing on and off the throttle though during the warmup period usually about 3 to 5 minutes of running at 2000 rpm because if i let off too quickly the rpms will drop too quickly and it will stall out. now that weve elminated the battery does anyone have any other suggestions thank you for your help. jason .

gonna top post here for a sec... thanks for the links...i am partial to the 45acp and have been using taurus coppers iin it and since ruger didnt offer a hi cap mag for the p90 i got a couple from a local supplier and i have been happy with 13 rounds in the thing. i did get the wife a new toy for christmas a taurus ultra-lite 38s. using federal hydrashocks in it and its been quite the toy. montanajeeper@aol.com wrote denny wrote http//www.handgunsmag.com/featuredhandguns/glock370305/ a friend of mine owns the .45gap and while ill agree that its a fine pistol to actually suggest that it could be a contender for the .45acp is nothing short of biased dreaming and bullshit. well youre wrong there. there have been several tests run on the two rounds and the gap ran right along side the acp and in a few cases the gap was superior ballistics to the acp. only when +p ammo in the acp was used did the acp walk away from the gap. using the same bullets you have the same bullet weight same frontal area but slightly better fpe in the gap plus the gap carries 10 rounds to the typical 1911 7 rounds. its understandable the .45 apc fans arent gonna like it but facts are facts. look them up yo

how to start your day with a positive attitude 1. create a new folder on your computer. 2. name it people who cannot realize we are still one country. 3. send it to the trash. 4. empty the trash. 5. your computer will ask you do you really want to delete people who cannot realize we are still one country 6. calmly answer yes and press the mouse button firmly... at some point even those who voted for kerry will realize that whining about the past doesnt fix the present or make a better future. at some point those with narrow minds will hopefully accept that those who are anti-bush arent necessarily pro-kerry or any other dem. one country indeed but divided thanks to the polarizers like bush. .
