in a torqueflite the rear clutch is used in all forward gears not in reverse. that should give you a clue. if reverse works bank on the rear clutch being baked -- and it being time to yard the trans out for a rebuild. bryan 99 3/4ton 360 magnum dodge van. check engine light came on. i get nothing in any gear but the engine still revs. if i barely give it any gas in drive it will inch forward just a bit. someone mentioned a twisted input shaft. any help would be appreciated. thank you don manning .

maybe you mistook *revs* for reverse. i literally meant the engine *revs* but does not go anywhere. i am assuming though that the general idea is that i need to replace the tranny eh don manning in a torqueflite the rear clutch is used in all forward gears not in reverse. that should give you a clue. if reverse works bank on the rear clutch being baked -- and it being time to yard the trans out for a rebuild. bryan 99 3/4ton 360 magnum dodge van. check engine light came on. i get nothing in any gear but the engine still revs. if i barely give it any gas in drive it will inch forward just a bit. someone mentioned a twisted input shaft. any help would be appreciated. thank you don manning .

no understood what you meant -- but missed that it doesnt work in *any* gear including reverse. since im certainly not a tf expert i refer to my service manual... possible causes of no drive in any shifter position 1. low fluid level -- refill to correct level. 2. hydraulic pressures too low -- perform hydraulic pressure tests and adjust to specifications. 3. oil filter clogged -- replace filter. 4. valve body malfunction or leakage -- perform hydraulic pressure tests to determine cause and correct as required. 5. faulty oil pump -- perform hydraulic pressure tests adjust or replace as necessary. 6. clutches or servos sticking or not operating -- remove valve body assembly and perform air pressure tests. repair as required. 7. torque converter failure -- replace torque converter. of course a service manual will be very useful in performing these tests. bryan maybe you mistook *revs* for reverse. i literally meant the engine *revs* but does not go anywhere. i am assuming though that the general idea is that i need to replace the tranny eh don manning in a torqueflite the rear clutch is used in all forward gears not in reverse. that should give you a clue. if reverse works bank on the rear clutch being baked -- and it being time to yard the trans out for a rebuild. bryan 99 3/4ton 360 magnum dodge van. check engine light came on. i get nothing in any gear but the engine still revs. if i barely give it any gas in drive it will inch forward just a bit. someone mentioned a twisted input shaft. any help would be appreciated. thank you don manning .
