99 Dodge Ram Magnum
From : Annonymous
Q: i have a 99 dodge pickup with about 62k miles. all the maintenance is current. it had developed a problem that feels like the ignition was turned off momentarily at around 1650 rpm. this happens only occasionally and i havent been able to make it occur. it has now started to occur from a stoplight and has also stalled after a long hiway trip. i have changed the spark coil the throttle position sensor. does anybody have any suggestions as to what is causing this i hate to take it to a dealer as they can only throw parts at it. they replaced the computer about 6 months ago while they had it in for changing the intake manifold gasket. any help would be appreciated. thanks jim monahan .

jmonahan@ev1.net wrote im still runnung the original plugs. the problem is getting worse as it quit as i was turning a corner to my street this pm. im hoping if i give the dealership enough info they will be able to find the problem this time. i have had it there 2 other times for similar problems and they really didnt find anything. just changed everything in sight and then charged me up the a** for it but there was never any good resolution of the problem. on thu 18 dec 2003 170757 gmt carolina watercraft works inc. loballeng@mindspring.com wrote what plugs are you running -- laszlo almasi carolina watercraft works inc. 2810-5d yonkers road raleigh nc 27604 loballeng@mindspring.com i/m having trouble with the engine cutting out momentarily at about 1650 rpm. it has also started happening when starting out after a stoplight. i have not been able to recreate this. it runs along fine at 2000 - 2200. i have changed the spark coil and the throttle position sensor. does anybody have any ideas or similar experiences i hate to take it to the dealer and have them throw parts at it at my expense. they changed the computer about 6 months ago when i had it in to have the intake manifold replaced. i think this may be when it started. i have about 62k miles on it. any help will be appreciated. thanks jim monahan jim let us know what you find out. have a 97 ram 1500 4x4 that does the same thing. thanks ole dude -- m u p hang on tight lifes a b y ride. e.m.d. .

check your plugs. i had a similar situation that was resolved with replacing the plugs. im anticipating your plug gaps to be to large as mine were. i chucked the champions completely and it was smooth as new. -- laszlo almasi carolina watercraft works inc. 2810-5d yonkers road raleigh nc 27604 loballeng@mindspring.com im still runnung the original plugs. the problem is getting worse as it quit as i was turning a corner to my street this pm. im hoping if i give the dealership enough info they will be able to find the problem this time. i have had it there 2 other times for similar problems and they really didnt find anything. just changed everything in sight and then charged me up the a** for it but there was never any good resolution of the problem. on thu 18 dec 2003 170757 gmt carolina watercraft works inc. loballeng@mindspring.com wrote what plugs are you running -- laszlo almasi carolina watercraft works inc. 2810-5d yonkers road raleigh nc 27604 loballeng@mindspring.com i/m having trouble with the engine cutting out momentarily at about 1650 rpm. it has also started happening when starting out after a stoplight. i have not been able to recreate this. it runs along fine at 2000 - 2200. i have changed the spark coil and the throttle position sensor. does anybody have any ideas or similar experiences i hate to take it to the dealer and have them throw parts at it at my expense. they changed the computer about 6 months ago when i had it in to have the intake manifold replaced. i think this may be when it started. i have about 62k miles on it. any help will be appreciated. thanks jim monahan .
