99 Dakota Cruise control

From : me

Q: i have a 99 dakota. at about 60000 miles the cruise began to act up. when set at 65-70 mph i notice the tach jumps a couple of hundred rpms every 15-30 seconds and just as quickly falls back. if i slow down to 50-55 the tach stays steady. the speedometer does not jump when this happens. sometimes it begins as soon as the cruise is engaged other times after 30 minutes or so of driving. i have had the transmission serviced every 25-30000 miles. any ideas what is going on and what to do .

that sounds like the converter is unlocking and locking again. could be a bad sensor. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving i have a 99 dakota. at about 60000 miles the cruise began to act up. when set at 65-70 mph i notice the tach jumps a couple of hundred rpms every 15-30 seconds and just as quickly falls back. if i slow down to 50-55 the tach stays steady. the speedometer does not jump when this happens. sometimes it begins as soon as the cruise is engaged other times after 30 minutes or so of driving. i have had the transmission serviced every 25-30000 miles. any ideas what is going on and what to do .
