Q: is when i took out the crank sensor it had a wear mark on it like something was rubbing on it. now does it need to be shimmed or do i need to are you sure were talking about the crankshaft position sensor and not the camshaft position sensor the crank sensor just installs - no special care needed. the cam sensor when installed new has a spacer on the end of it designed to wear away. this is for proper spacing of the sensor. if you installed the cam sensor when the cam in the wrong position or installed it too deep its possible the high spot on the cam sprocket fragged the sensor. and isnt there a candy dotthat comes with a few that you put on the endand install it so that when you fire it the first time it is pulled off and the space is correct if it is the cam sensor theres a special procedure that needs to be followed for proper installation. lets verify were talking about the correct sensor first and take it from there. .

daniel j. stern wrote why did daimler merge/buy chrysler because they saw chrysler repeatedly bring concept cars to market in record time and figured that by assimilating chrysler they could speed up their own frozen-molasses speed of innovation. and that explains why they swept the year-2000 hemi-c concept under the rug never to be seen again and the charger concept also shown at the 2000 detroit auto show unfortunately for them virtually every last bit of the engineering and design talent that powered chrysler jumped ship at or shortly after the takeover. while that sounds romantic and it might be true and there is even reason to believe it is true can anyone point to any exodus of design or styling talent from chrysler anything published by any automotive rag along those lines its interesting to note the similarities between daimler-benz and the borg. yea well like i said youre not seeing chryslers turning up in europe because of this merger. if there was an assimilation its hard to understand what daimler intended to happen with chryslers physical-plant engineers market share etc. .

hi art all i can say is that my 95 same basic truck was pretty much problem free through 150000 miles. i had some cooling problems water pump radiator at about 120000 but that was about it. i just traded it on a new 2003 a few weeks back. im assuming the magnum youre talking about is the 5.9l that is a great engine imho. i gotta ask though a 5 year old repo did the poor guy have a 72 mo loan and lose it in the last year that sucks. even if the guy was paying 500/mo and had 12 months to go the bank only needs $6000 to meet the contract plus a bit for the repo guy. you might do even better than $9500. 11300 out of line imo. good luck. --mike im thinking about buying the above truck. it has over 100000 miles and the owner is a credit union. they want $11300 but i have it from a reliable source theyll take $9500. my question is this. to this point ive only owned chevy the devil i know you see. for example i can tell you blazer 4x4s are notorious for having head gasket problems between 150000 and 200000 miles. is there any such gotchas from a truck like this realistically how many miles do you guys get with recommended maintenance. its a repo and im told has not been used to tow. any opinion from you guys is appreciated. art .

there is a repo fee which is $2000-$2500 at least here in illinois thats the average... that matters to the new buyer how the note holder is going to sell the truck for what they can either directly or at auction and whatever is short plus anyother costs they assign to the guy who they repod it from. ill start watching reality tv shows when i can vote people off the planet. .
