Q: comparing a 1/2 ton to a 1/2 ton truck i would rather have a diesel in it vice a gasser. hell i have a half ton and wish i could convert it! yes the outright read initial expense for a diesel is more but if you look at the long run long term pricing of it a diesel is cheaper. i have a 25 gallon tack and at 2.05 a gallon and a 325 mile range in the city i have to fill up at least once a week. diesel here in ma is $2.63@gal reg gas is $2.11 i know a diesel would get better mileage then that. i am spending about 50 buck per oil change right now and that is doing it every 5k running full synthetic oil. tom do you change oil that often i am sure the price is close also though a 1/2 may not have the load capacity of a larger truck a diesel would make more sense if you use the truck for any type of moving hauling traveling etc... how much does a 1/2 ton get used to capacity either loaded or towing id bet not often. i cant see the benefit of a diesel in one. i guess this depends on the person it sure does. hey! while i have your attention thanks for the advice on the gps went with the garmin and it is super. .

isaiah 442 this says nothing of when life starts merely that the lord who made you formed you from the womb. taken into context it is a passage noting who god is and why his word should be accepted by jacob. thus says the lord who made you and formed you from the womb and will help you fear not jacob o my servant..... the rest of the passage deals with how the lord will hold jacob and his descendants above all others and that he alone is god. not a word about when human life starts nor should there be as the passage is not about human life but about gods blessing upon one jacob. what are you looking for scott a medical definition in a book of faith 4424 much a repeat of the previous phrase thus says the lord your redeemer who formed you from the womb. again all this says is that god is the origin of life. it does not say when life actually begins. it does you do not see it. the bible is much like a human being torture it long enough and itll say anything you want it to. .

ive been reading this group for a long while and have got some really insightful help from a lot of people ... but i have been reading this thread an heres the 85% solution to everyones mileage woes get your foot out of it. driving 65+ mph is nuts pulling a trailer at those speeds is insane. i think we really all have to reconsider the saying i cant drive 55 and actually start doing it take an extra 15 minutes to get to work or whatever. the savings are quite noticeable ... i routinely used to check my mileage routinely havent with my dodge but when i owned my gmc 8.1l 6-speed manual i got between 17-18 mpg hwy and on one trip 21 mpg solo! laterpeace -derek .

im wondering if someone can verify whether or not dakotas have a check valve in the cooler lines like the rams do. if they do then it stands to reason that something is holding the valve open. im only pointing this out because 1 its easy to remove clean and inspect and 2 if debris is the cause then it stands to reason that the next problem down the line is a plugged cooler or jammed check valve....leaving you stranded or worse yet stranded with a fried transmission. this info has kept me off the hook twice so far... fyi my torque converter started coming apart internally at 105k starting with the ops symptom and i regrettably wasnt able to put together the pieces of the puzzle....but neither were 3 other shops. ended up getting sleazed for a transmission.....and they put the bad tc back in! what a nightmare.... stormin mormon wrote my 1987 does this. its an old phone company van and then was used by a landlord who ran it hard and didnt maintain it. every time i get near the transmission shop its a thousand bucks. so i just live with it. -- christopher a. young you cant shout down a troll. you have to starve them. . i have a 98 dodge dakota with auto w/overdrive tranny wth 80000 miles. flushed by dealership 5k miles ago. has started to not pull for a couple of seconds immediately after startup if it has been sitting for more than a 3 or 4 days without being started. the engine just revs up and then finally it will start to roll then takes off normally. after it finally takes off all is fine no slippage whatsoever. could it be the torque converter bleeding off or something similar what can i do to fix this problem -- posted via a free usenet account from http//www.tera.com .

i sent a question to rick santorum our state senator. in short i asked what his position on stem cell research is. i feel that stem cell research is essential to finding cures for such things as cancer muscular dystrophy paralysis parkinsons and a host of other diseases. if you agree with senator santorum i urge you to vote for he or those in your state like him. if you agree that stem cell research is essential to medical advancements i urge you to vote against senator santorum and those that share his views. sadly santorums reply shows me exactly how short sighted and how assuming our congressmen are. this is one of many issues that may be decided next week i urge everyone to vote regardless of position. perhaps we can put our values back into the government since they seem to have lost sight of society. my reply to him follows while his reply is below that. senator santorum and staff my question was one about stem cell research. your reply dealt with the issue of abortion and not stem cell research. sadly it is all too often that these issues become somehow confused and intertwined. let me state clearly abortion has little to do with stem cell research. on the issue of abortion i am determined that it is a very personal decision to be made by a medical professional and the patient involved. the hippocratic oath covers this. the last time a government was allowed to start issuing medical decisions that same government also believed genocide was a logical means of population control. while i do not believe the practice of abortion is a good idea i also firmly believe it is not an issue the government has reason to be involved. but let me return to the original question where does senator santorum stand on the issue of stem cell research it is my firmly held belief that stem cell research should be supported by our government. i am not advocating the spending of funds although that would help. i am advocating the support of stem cell research and clearing of legal hurdles for that research that could potentially cure a wide range of disease and maladies suffered by mankind. this is not a question of abortion or right to life in the traditional sense. it is literally the right to many people such as celebrity michael j. fox or my brother to gain hope that stem cell research might one day lead to a cure for parkinsons or in my brothers case muscular dystrophy. it is their right to a life of hope that some day they might be lucky enough to have a chance to test these new methods of treatment let alone be cured by these new methods. sadly given the ease with which you senator and your staff mixed up an issue of abortion with the issue of stem cell research i cannot support you. i asked about stem cell research not abortion. i never mentioned abortion. you failed to even mention stem cell research in the reply to my question. stem cell research does not equate with abortion when posed in a phrase or question. i urge you to change your position or at least find a position regarding stem cell research should you be re-elected. there are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty soap ballot jury and ammo. please use in that order. -ed howdershelt author ----- original message ----- from senatorsantorum@santorum.senate.gov to max340@verizon.net sent thursday november 02 2006 426 pm subject responding to your message. thank you for contacting me regarding the protection of human life. i appreciate hearing from you and having the benefit of your views. since the roe v. wade decision over 30 years ago abortion has been one of our countrys most important moral issues as it relates to the most fundamental human right - the right to life. i am proud to say that during my time in the house of representatives and in the senate i have maintained a very strong pro-life voting record. i have sponsored and cosponsored numerous pieces of legislation that defend the sanctity of human life. during the 109th congress i am looking forward to leading my colleagues in passing legislation that remains consistent with those values. the recent confirmations of chief justice john roberts and associate justice samuel a. alito jr. to the supreme court of the united states mark a pivotal point in our highest courts history as several issues related to abortion are anticipated to come before the court for consideration. while we do not know with certainty how the court will rule on many of these matters there is optimism among pro-life supporters about further review of some of these important issues. building a culture of life in our society will also require efforts that reach beyond the courts. through participation in rallies demonstrations and marches; being a continual voice in society; and most importantly individually caring for women with unplanned pregnancies pro-life advocates are instrumental
