Q: hi all my 2001 ram 2500 had the dealer replace the trany at 36000 miles and i complained on several occasions to chrysler that it was never the same. ie...shifted different and wound way up before shifting downshifted straight from od to 2nd under load.....big questions on how was is programmed the dealer reprogrammed from a pre 2000 program per the dealer but it has never shifted the same as when i bought it. and it never really locks in od! well it died again good this time. only has 63000 miles now. only 26000 miles on this one and ammco says they cant do anything about my programming queries. my big question is how do i get to arbitration of any king with chrysler about the warranty repairs i complained about. i still feel that 1 they put an old trany in and not a 2001 spec. trany 2 the trany was a bad rebuilt 3 programming is not correct. anyone know anything to help me im calling the warranty company on monday. .

hello and happy holidays everyone i just bought my first dodge a 97 1500 5.2l swb 4x4 with 57k miles. shes a pretty one! 265/75 wranglers tonneau cover hanging steps rear slider etc. my last pickup was an 88 chevy c/k 2500 5.7l lwb bought new and run until last year. i live in the northeast and the rust killed her. - there is a faint but annoying squeal from the serpentine belt. the belt looks to be in excellent condition. would replacing it be likely to eliminate the squeal or is there anything else i should check first im pretty sure the squeal is coming from the belt as the noise disappeared when i gave the belt a short blast of silicone spray while the engine was running. make sure your belt tensioner isnt seized up. easiest way to check it is to give the belt over by the power steering a tug and see if it gives it should pull back in place when you leave off it. the tensioner is located on the pass. side under the alternator and is not really very difficult to replace if needed. denny also any hints or tips or good websites relating to the 97 model year truck i stumbled onto the allpar ram faq already. i have the chiltons and haynes manuals in my amazon.com shopping cart for my next order. thanks for any information bob scott -----= posted via feeds.com uncensored usenet =----- http//www.feeds.com - the #1 group service in the world! -----== over 100000 groups - 19 different servers! =----- .

bob if you are planning on doing most of the work on your new ram yourself i would leave the chilton and haynes manuals in the shopping cart and buy a factory service manual instead. there are countless posts in the ng from folks asking for help cause they cant find the info they need from chilton or haynes. its gonna set you back about $100.00 but its worth every penny imho. chryco service manager member sae hello and happy holidays everyone i just bought my first dodge a 97 1500 5.2l swb 4x4 with 57k miles. shes a pretty one! 265/75 wranglers tonneau cover hanging steps rear slider etc. my last pickup was an 88 chevy c/k 2500 5.7l lwb bought new and run until last year. i live in the northeast and the rust killed her. - there is a faint but annoying squeal from the serpentine belt. the belt looks to be in excellent condition. would replacing it be likely to eliminate the squeal or is there anything else i should check first im pretty sure the squeal is coming from the belt as the noise disappeared when i gave the belt a short blast of silicone spray while the engine was running. also any hints or tips or good websites relating to the 97 model year truck i stumbled onto the allpar ram faq already. i have the chiltons and haynes manuals in my amazon.com shopping cart for my next order. thanks for any information bob scott -----= posted via feeds.com uncensored usenet =----- http//www.feeds.com - the #1 group service in the world! -----== over 100000 groups - 19 different servers! =----- .

instead of looking for some mysterious phantom chip perhaps you should take it somewhere and have the codes read. it is probably a buss error indicating that he probably damaged the cluster when he landed. you may be lucky and a plug was just knocked loose. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving my friends 98 dodge sport took a flying leap of faith off the interstate last month and after he landed the speedo quit working and the check engine light is on. i have heard there is a chip that goes out from time to time on these trucks and it is about 100 bucks to replace it. does anyone know what the chip is called and where it is located. or if anyone has any other ideas i would appreciate it. tia side .

some brands of belts squeal almost from the start while others work until large cracks appear. sometimes you can remove the belt and take a wire brush along the belt groves and remove the small grains of sand and gravel wedged into the bottom of the belt groves and fix the squeal problem and save the cost of a new belt. on sat 20 dec 2003 175345 -0500 bob desmobob@capital.net wrote hello and happy holidays everyone i just bought my first dodge a 97 1500 5.2l swb 4x4 with 57k miles. shes a pretty one! =----- .
