'97 Ram 1500 5.9L Heater problems

From : roger little

Q: after having the radiator replaced and the ac worked on my heater is longer working properly. it gets lukewarm but not hot like it used to. i have replaced the thermostat water pump is fine the lines going in and out of the heater core are hot. im puzzled as to what could be the problem. sometimes it seems to be warmer than others such as during medium acceleration and i can hear gurgling in the heater core sometimes. is it possible that air is trapped in the heater core or the heater core is partially blocked i believe the blend door is cable operated so it is doubtful a vacuum leak is the culprit. any suggestions has anyone else been down this road before roger little .

been there air door is probably in a bind happens when the shell is put back together. take it back to whoever did the a/c work and let them make it right. the door gets hung up on the wrong side of a locating tab. joe 2000 ram on thu 18 dec 2003 111933 -0600 roger little sum1@sumwhair.net wrote after having the radiator replaced and the ac worked on my heater is longer working properly. it gets lukewarm but not hot like it used to. i have replaced the thermostat water pump is fine the lines going in and out of the heater core are hot. im puzzled as to what could be the problem. sometimes it seems to be warmer than others such as during medium acceleration and i can hear gurgling in the heater core sometimes. is it possible that air is trapped in the heater core or the heater core is partially blocked i believe the blend door is cable operated so it is doubtful a vacuum leak is the culprit. any suggestions has anyone else been down this road before roger little .

then i can only suggest placing a piece of cardboard between the transmission cooler and the front of the radiator - but watch the temp carefully so you dont ruin the engine. it has the right thermostat in it 195deg. .
