Q: i have a 2004 dakota 4x4 with a v8 engine and automatic trans. the other morning when the temp. was 18 f this is the first time it has been that cold this year in fayetteville nc it made the weirdest noise when revving the engine. it was a high pitched squeak or like finger nails on a black board and fairly loud. at first i though it was the radio but it came from under the hood. a good title for a horror movie after the car warmed up the sound disappeared. it had never done this before. seems to be a cold weather phenomena. anybody have a similar experience or idea what is going on its just plain weird. probably a belt happens a lot up here where it gets cold. roy dave that sounds reasonable. thanks for the input. dave .

on wed 22 dec 2004 165931 gmt bumtracks sitting@corner.pub wrote if threads are clean white loctite thread sealant - theres two both will work dandy in any automotive threads. one is extra high heat for cyl head fittings or exhaust bolts but other is better for later on taking stuff apart if not super hot location. and not the one with teflon doesnt actually fully lock it. thanks exactly what i was looking for. i i am installing a bunch of 1/8 npt fittings into an engine 26 year old onan dje generator. i would like to make sure that no matter what the engine oil sealed off by the fittings does not spill. should i use teflon tape which is a hassle or is there some nice compound that i can put on threads thanks i -- .
