hello. i own a 1997 dodge 2500 cummins turbo diesel c/w automatic transmission. a few questions 1. can i use mobil 1 synthetic motor oil in the diesel engine if so what type is best 5w30 10w30 15w50 i dont believe mobil one meets the specs for ci engines if you want a synthetic oil for your cummins i would recommend mobils synthetic delvac in 15w-40. refer to your owners manual for the proper oil spec. 2. can i use mobil 1 atf synthetic transmission fluid in the tranny or do i need some special chrysler product if the mobil one product meets the chryco specs it is ok to use refer to your owners manual 3. can i use mobil 1 atf synthetic transmission fluid in the transfer case. again refer to your owners manual 4. can i use 75w90 synthetic gear oil in the front and rear differentials yes this is ok. if you have a limited slip differential though you still need to use a ls additive to prevent chatter biggest load i will pull is a 24ft travel trailer. thanks in advance for any responses. irp chryco service manager member sae .

4. can i use 75w90 synthetic gear oil in the front and rear differentials yes this is ok. if you have a limited slip differential though you still need to use a ls additive to prevent chatter mike question i recently changed the rear differential gear oil on my dually. i used valvoline synthetic. reading the bottle led me to believe it doesnt require the additive i havent put any in and it seems to be fine ive also used amsoil synthetic in the dana 60 in my challenger. ive never used the additive in it either. been about 20 years now. never had a problem with chatter this came up in the car group also. a guy changed to synthetic and his sure grip was as tight as your g/fs p*ssy. g anyway using the additive solved his problem. is your opinion that the additive should always be used no matter thanks red some of the syn diff fluids have a friction modifier added during manufacture some dont.... which ones have it and which ones dont i dont know. you can always try the syn fluid without adding the additive and if it does chatter add it later. mike ill start watching reality tv shows when i can vote people off the planet. .
