jlrice@earthlink.net wrote tom lawrence wrote by the way - he does realize theres a brake interlock solenoid that only lets the trans shift out of park when the brake pedal is depressed is that on all year models normally on cold days i just open the door reach inside and pull the shifter into neutral and start the truck up. let it run a few minuets before i even get inside. jerry i will tell him to try that jerry remember to use the park brakes .

tom your dealer is correct. in cases where there is a dramatic difference in traction from left to right it may sometimes be necessary to slightly engage the ebrake. this has been a common practice on all lsds. i believe you will also find this in your owners manual. my 03 dr ctd does the same thing. chryco service manager member sae i have a 2003 2500 hd quad cab with ho diesel and six-speed and the anit-spin differential. i have just recently had the truck stuck and only one tire would pull. i have taken it to the deaer and they said it was working properly. they said the way to get it to work from a stop with one wheel spinning was to apply the emergancy brake. is this really the way this differntial is supposed to work. does that mean every time i try to move the truck in slippery conditions i have to apply the emergany brake. this just doesnt sound right to me. is anybody else having any problems with this differential or do i have a problem with my truck and my local dodge dealer. i know the anti spin in my 98 2500 hd you did not have to do this and it seemed to work much better. thanks in advance. tom .
