96 RAM 2000 RAM engine. Help

Q: high sierra wrote hi i have a 96 ram 1500 with the 5.2 liter engine. the original engine was replaced with 5.2 liter engine from a 2000. problem is the lack of a separate temperature sensor for the temperature guage. there was one for the computer but no separate one for the instrument cluster. anyone have an idea of how i can get my temperature guage working the 2000 engine does not have a place for the temp guage sender. at least we havent found it. does this all make sense. help. tia high sierra george sorry correcting subject .
