96 Dodge van problems
From : bigiron
Q: hi guys ive been handed a problem child a 96 dodge van v6 3 speed auto. the owner has already run through the gamut of replace parts and cross fingers routine. here are the symptoms as described to me. runs okay until it warms up then dies. restart after it cools and repeat. they tell me it mostly happens when its under 1/4 tank of fuel but not necessarily. when it dies they tell me it pops through the throttle body i havent driven it yet cant confirm the description. what theyve done 1. full tune up new plugs wires cap and rotor 2. pulled all six injectors and cleaned them all 3. cleaned fuel rail had some rust / gunk in it 4. cleaned throttle body looks real nice! what ive done 1. checked fuel pressure reads 4045 psi at idle drops to 30 when reved up 2. checked the key codes got 21 27 three times! three injectors i was really thinking fuel pump and or relay but the pressure test seems to shoot that idea dead. maybe three bad injectors cutting off the fuel would mimic a bad fuel pump dunno obviously got some more work / diagnosis ahead of me. anybody had any similar problems insights thanks robert .
