'96 Dakota idle problem

Q: changed plugs rotor and distributer cap. disconected battery to reset computer still stalls not as often at stop signs and red lights. rpms drop to 300 after warm-up. any way to adjust rpms without going to a dealer or any ideas thanks .

i will bet that you did not take the yoke off the differential when balancing the drive shaft. if the differential yoke or shaft is bent or machined wrong it will shake. you can learn a lot by running it at the speed it shakes at on jack stands with the wheels off the ground while watching it. on sat 20 sep 2003 202825 -0600 bg bg@nospam.com wrote 1992 b250 3/4 ton van since new it has had rumble in the drive line like bad unniversals between 50 and 60 mph. universals are new drive shaft has been balanced transmission output bushing replaced. what else is there bg .

likely the idle air sensor...located on the backside of the throttle body...easy fix...maybe 10 minutes. you can get one from your dealer or from autozone. i had same problems as yours and a new ias fixed it. changed plugs rotor and distributer cap. disconected battery to reset computer still stalls not as often at stop signs and red lights. rpms drop to 300 after warm-up. any way to adjust rpms without going to a dealer or any ideas thanks .
