.. .. later in the thread we find the o2 sensors were changed because of a code 52 ====== ====== op chltestonoponoviquenoespartedelemail@tie.cl clt i have changed the fuel pump the spark plugs and their cables both oxygen sensors and it still has problems to start. what eslse can be please any help ========== ========== dont quit now.... youve got too much money invested in the diagnostics. questions 4-u engine size who pulled the codes for you can you get live data read for you how many miles on the engine system how long has it been doing it what did the o2s look like when you pulled them out what did the old plugs look like is it hard start cold and hot does it run smooth once it gets started has anyone worked on the thing jest before all this hard starting comenced were fishing for ....... burnt electrodes wet plugs oily plugs carboned up plugs carboned up sensors electronics added on major engine repairs recently skipping missing backfireing etc..etc... a guess is..... its running its dumping too much fuel on start up. unless you post back that it runs like crap too then my guess may change while were waitn for some more input try this....... unplug the temp sensor and see how it starts. unplug the tps and see how it starts. unplug the crank sensor and see how it starts. you may git lucky and hit the correct sensor by doing this. if not.....yer gonna be gitn a whole lot of diagnostic checks to perform. keep this in mind 1 if it runs good once it starts then the basic sense and command system is withing normal ranges for what the ecu is programmed for. 2 if its not setting a hard code...then the computer thinks the inputs are within range on start-up. 3 if it not only starts hard but also runs bad it could be mechanical or computer related and your going to likely need some tools to help figure it out. remember dont quit yet jest quit spending money whithout knowing what the deal is. marshmonster wonders if you have a fuel pres tester engine compression tester digitital volt/ohm meter a case of beer and a little patience.....jest in case you dont git lucky unhooking stuff ======= ======= .

thanks for all the replays. it starts but it doesnt crank normaly it takes at least 5 rrrrrrrrs from the start engine to start. i replace the oxygen sensors couse the 52 code was in the check engine lite and the lite turn off for about 2 days but now is on again. if this truck would have a carburator i would think there is the problem but i clean the fuel inyectors and nothing new. it still dosnt crank at the first touch of the key. any ideas big al wrote marsh monster swampgrassproductionsstudio@webtv.net wrote in . eng. temp sensor but...... there are many other things it could be. marshmonster ============ ============ 96 dakota i quit. cdt+1 from chltestonoponoviquenoespartedelemail@tie.cl clt i have changed the fuel pump the spark plugs and their cables both oxygen sensors and it still has problems to start. what eslse can be please any help ============ ============ help us out. does it crank normally when it does start how does it run i dont see why you changed the o2 sensors. they have almost nothing to do with starting. al .

just to throw my 2 cents in.... my 94 was had simular problem. the fuel pump was the problem because it was allowing fuel to bleed back from the engine. does your model have a check valve in fuel system could there be a very very small leak in the fuel system vince i have changed the fuel pump the spark plugs and their cables both oxygen sensors and it still has problems to start. what eslse can be please any help .
