95 Dodge Ram 1500 Automatic Transmission is stuck in neutral.

From : Annonymous

Q: i have a dodge ram 1500 that wont shift out of neutral. regardless of where the shifter is it just sits there and revs up. i assume its stuck in neutral because im able to tow is on all four wheels. is this a common problem with dodges if so do you have any ideas of what it might be. i know at this point it could be a number of things but im hoping one of you know enough about dodges history and have an idea of what it could be. ill have more information to share tomorrow to assist us in the diagnosis. im just hoping its not a completely shot tranny. it was not a slow degradation of the tranny it just happened immediately. if anyone has any insight id love to hear it. ill post more info soon. thanks for your help dale .

suddenly without warning geekboy exclaimed 26-apr-07 407 am on wed 25 apr 2007 130838 +0000 ben turner wrote ive dumped my old plastic bedliner and was thinking about getting a line-x sprayed in a 97 2500. the front tie down points in the bed used to be covered by a rubber plug -- but this looks somewhat tacky. also i cant imagine how these plugs would remain functional after a spray-in was installed. do these front tie-downs have a water drain hole or should i drill some half inch holes in the tie down cavity i have a line-x in my 05 and love it. i ditched the plastic liner the first night. got it home from the dealership and out came the plastic liner even before the insurance cards went into the truck. my trucks drain holes dont drain as fast as they used to but they do drain when crap isnt covering them you probably could enlarge the holes with a drill bit to increase the functionality of the holes after its sprayed with the liner. not sure i would worry about it but the option is there if your really concerned. usually if my truck fills with water during a overnight rain storm remember the crap over the holes the first time i back out of the driveway it all gone runs right out from under the tailgate. would think it would make sense to enlarge the holes before the spraying. or would the spray plug them anyway it does. the factory tie-down holes are reduced in size to the point where you cannot use the rubber plugs anymore. this is true. mine still drains fine though. ive had my line-x in since shortly after i bought the truck 2001 and i love it! it hasnt faded as much as i thought its very dark grey now instead of jet black even after a year in the hot sunny desert climate. considering what ive put in it over the years the bed itself or any plastic liner would have been totally trashed but the line-x looks practically new. great investment! yeah and i am sure better than pathetic rhino. i will never have them. my truck was sprayed with a matching color. it reacted to uv rays and turned green. rhino said i should have it sprayed with a gloss coating. my response was why would i want to make something that has turned green an even brighter green no reponse from the jerk offs. jmc .

i love seeing those small suvs and minivans towing trailers. you can always tell how new they are to it. if they have any miles under their belt at all they have a death grip on the wheel at ten and two oclock positions eyes straight ahead unblinking and head straight ahead like it had titanium pins in it. anna nicole could have flashed her boobs and the guy would not have looked or moved an inch. probably takes a couple of minutes to get his hands off the wheel when he stops just like running a jack hammer for a while. the small suv towing with his rear suspension almost bottomed out always makes me sadly shake my head then try to get as much distance between him and me. but its almost summer so keep a look out for them. .
