what is the ignition timing set at are the mechanical and vacuum advances working properly budd same vehicle guys 64 travco rv. 318 with a can you believe 2 barrel carb. it idles fine but go to step on the gas either in park or any drive gear and its like you just grabbed it by the throat and chocked the living **** out of it. im not a real good carb man but can make adjustments or do a basic rebuild if necessary any hint or tips would be most appreciated. yohanus@dslextreme.com .

ramman@dodgecity.cc wrote normally at 20 degrees and lower. however newer fuels have additives which they claim will prevent jelling even at 20 below zero. fair warning if youre running with red fuel there is no additive in that but there is a big fat fine if you get caught. i know that mixing some kerosene with diesel fuel prevents jelling. anyone know the effects of doing this with a cummins ram .

dwayne lane dodge in everett wa is running a misleading promotion to lure unsuspecting prospects onto their sales floor. you receive a scratch card with four chances to win. the games are labeled 1 2 3 and 4. when you scratch off the covering it looks like you have won game four. the accompanying flier says that you could win four different items enumerated by roman numerals. number iv is $10000.00. when you get to the dealership it is explained to you that winning game four actually gets you a cheesy trip to las vegas. when you complain that you thought that you had won $10000 the salesman says yes that is kind of misleading but those numbers he points to the scratch ticket are arabic and those numbers pointing to the flier are roman. yeah it sucks and we have filed a complaint because we dont do business that way. sorry pal but you are doing business that way. and it sucks. mike walton just remember mike...... tanstaafl and you will never be disappointed! mike .

cold stalling on any incline ok when warm please help i have an 86 plymouth voyager mini-van with 2.6l & 2 bar mikuni carb. i suspect maybe the carburetor is the problem. if so what carburetor component would it be or what other car part if not the carb as it runs ok when it completely warms up. .

off the vin# but that would take a call to the dealer to run it hey yall.... is there any other way of verifying what the rear-end gear ratio is other than climbing under neat and reading the tag on a 2004 dodge ram 1500 q/c p/u i dont recall the ratio being listed on the sticker and i see now that the vin # doesnt have any clues. fwiw ive got the 5 speed manual transmission and the 4.7l v8. thanks... .

on thu 18 nov 2004 164315 gmt tbone t-bonenospam@nc.rr.com wrote budd cochran wrote do you have power steering bet youre hearing the noise of the fluid flowing thru the hoses. actually whooshing was the wrong word to describe it. its more of a whiffing sound. it doesnt sound to me like fluid in the hoses although i wont rule out that is what it is. it really sounds like when you wash a window with windex and at the very end of cleaning the window it makes that funny skrinch skrinch sound. only it makes that sound whenever i turn the steering wheel. maybe i need to top off the power steering fluid it sounds like something in the power steering hydraulics but it could be one of many things. the first thing to do is to check the power steering fluid level. if it is low then you will hear various noises. if the fluid level looks ok you will need to better pinpoint the source of the sound. it can really be anything from a worn pump to a bad valve in the steering gear to a loose return hose clamp or blown o-ring. the easiest way that i find to do that is with either a mechanics stethoscope or a simple hose. the fact that it seems to happen only under load turning the wheel and does it in both directions would have me looking at the pump first but it could be the gear just the same. have a friend turn the wheel back and forth while you listen to each of the components with the hose to find out which component is causing the problem and be careful. do not jam the hose into your ear as it is not worth damaging your eardrum to find it and there are moving parts in there that you can snag with the hose if you are not careful. there is no sound on earth to match the sound of accidentally letting the mechanics stethoscope touch that little cooling fan just behind the alternator pulley. so many garys ..so.. clyde lol i think that ill just take you word for that one - -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving .
