Q: ok now it make sense thanks gary -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving because power for the tcc on-off solenoid pre-01 goes thru the nc contacts on the switch gm trucks if the witch is bad open at rest the tcc cannot come on it usually flags an additional code of the p-188x variety which signals an electrical problem in the tc solenoid circuit....but it will always flag an 1870 because the ecm is looking for 11 in 3rd with tc commanded on why would a brake switch flag a slipping trans code -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving the ce light will come on any time the ecm sees an incorrect ratio for the proper circumstances so any tcc problem that prevented a 11 in 3rd with tc locked or whatever ratio the od in the vehicle has with tc locked will set it gm has the infamous p-1870 which simply means transmission component slipping it can be anything from a bad brake switch to an internal problem in any of 4 areas forward pack 3-4 pack band or tc for the 4l60e only if it was an electrical problem like the wires loose or burnt or shorted. mechanical problem with the tc clutch itself will not usually do it. if the auto trans. torque converter clutch was not locking would the check engine light illuminate and an error code be set thanks. .

i wasnt gonna say a thing. but since you started it they dont callem hot tubs for you theyre called ponds.. bfg denny i know denny get a big one so i can get my fat ass into it. still i need some info on good brands what to avoid what sanitizing products to use. im in ma so it gets cold in the winter and i want year round use. roy .

could anybody tell me what size socket fits the big nut on the front hub drivers side on my 1999 dodge ram 4x4 i tried every large socket i have but it must be metric cause every large regular socket is either to sloppy or just to small. i need to get it off to get to the u-joint. thank you. .

there are two solenoids on the rh side of the valve body easily replaceable that might be the problem but check what i said earlier first if the plastic coating has come off that part which would allow starts in drive by the way it will fool the ecm into thinking the selector is in n and not allow od ok - thanx- will pull the pan - is this overdrive external solenoid operated wondered if solenoid was accessible and sticking etc. thanx for all help! bob .

hi all! bought and installed the 2001/2002 tow mirrors for my 99 2500 ctd. went to clean them the other day and found the glass falling off on both mirrors...both the convex and flat pieces. mirrors also hard as heck to position properly. looked like they were only being held on with double sided tape...which had dried out...hence glass on mirrors loose and falling off. sprayed the innards with wd40 to free them up..helped some. thought about gluing the glass back on but then realized that this might not be a good idea...positioning mechanism likely to bind again and ill need to get the glass off to lube the mechanism again. also wondering if anyone knows if these mirrors were glued on originally or just being held with the double sided tape tia fred .

hi all! been wondering lately about replacement of the front rotors on my 99 ctd 2500 rwd. is there a measurement or rule of thumb used by brake shops on when the rotors need to be replaced or is it strictly appearance out of true criteria thats used also how many times can the rotors be resurfaced tia best to all fred .

sure will. havent been able to rule out anything yet other than its not bulbs. been working on it - attempting too. vic of course you will respond when you find the cause and cure ! henry hi have a problem here - would appreciate any troubleshooting. passenger side turn signals/brake lights dont work. 1 since it is on that side only shouldnt be the bulbs. i replaced those tonight and cleaned the contacts off. they were totally disgusting but they are pretty clean now. didnt check voltage on them left my multimeter at home. 2 the turn signal makes the click sound so its not the flasher. however the flasher makes a faster clicking noise when the passenger/not working signals are turned on than when the drivers side is on. 3 the original fuse box was replaced with a tridon 552. called advance auto they said 20 amp fuses control the turn signals. checked all 20 ampers and they are fine. checked a few other fuses nothing has been blown cant be the wiring can it. thanks for any help vic .
