Q: driving normal...thats not too often. so when towing a 5th wheeler should i punch the button or not punch the button honestly i dont know. does the od cutoff or the re-badged tow/haul button drop the engine to 4th or 3rd given the fact that the rfe trannys are complete new designs and not upgraded/altered 4xres i dont think theres the same concern with lack of oiling to the o/d section because there isnt a separate o/d section - the trannys were designed from the ground up with od in mind as opposed to the 4xre/4xrh which bolted an o/d unit onto the back of a 727. i would simply follow the normal rule of towing with an automatic - take it out of od if it starts hunting around. if its not hunting you can leave it engaged. .
