94 Dakota front thumps on bumps

Q: hi all ive replaced the front shocks but still the front wheels clunk thump when going over even small 2 inch deep pot hole bumps. one side is somewhat worse than the other. any ideas thanks much jim burns .

check your battery tray mounting bolts.. this happened to me. i heard the noise you were describing and it turned out to be the battery. btw a bungee cord holds the battery down good. .
