Q: hi i bought a 94 caravan a couple of months ago and am fixing it up. it has 135000 miles on it. 3.3 l v-6 i dont know if the timing chain was ever replaced and the owners manual doesnt say anything about it. can anybody tell me when it should be done and cost estimate if possible. i bought it from the original owner whos wife drove it as her family car. two kids. so it wasnt abused. thanks in advance for you thoughts alex .

i understand that it does not need to be changed normally with good oil changes filter non abusive driving. however 150000 to 200000 is the range i have heard for changing if needed badly maintained. price chains are usually a bit pricey mostly labor time. .

says... i could be wrong but my 95 had a chain and you dont normally change a chain. just a timing belt. good luck sammmm you are wrong. with 130k plus it needs to be changed and you might as well do the water pump while you are at it.. price i dont know.. bdk .

also most of the time those chains get very noisey when they are wore out. if it is not making any noise i wouldnt change it yet. james .
