From : Annonymous

Q: a powerstroke was in front and two dodge 3500 pulling trailers behide it. that powerstroke was probley only going about 35 mph. that cummins kept getting closer to the bumper of that ford. finally i guess the ford got scared and pulled off the road. man you sould have herd those two cummins when the gas it down!! there was black smoke all down the road. as for the ford it started creeping back up the road. now dont get me wrong fords look pretty good when it comes to apperance but those powerstrokes just dont do the job! brian . 222 319731 1152552957.360532.4780@h48g2000cwc.googlegroups.com we are having severe problems with our van overheating. so far we have replaced the waterpump the tensioner the radiator - to a tune of $800 + we cant afford more - couldnt afford that. but it is still overheating. now the mechanic is telling us there is a very small leak in the head gasket that is causing it. is this possible we dont want to burn up our engine and want to get it fixed but my fear is dumping another $800 into it and still not having it fixed - any ideas....please help. my husbands job depends on this vehicle running right. thank you arleine .

i had the same problem with my wifes 1989 3.3l engine. yes it is a head gasket. the original gaskets were very poor and i am sure you have a burn trace form a cylinder to a water hole. i took the complete engine apart because i wanted to fix a few engine oil leaks. i was totally surprised as to the little bit of wear there was in the engine. i live in phoenix so the body was in excellent shape so i figure the van is good for another 150000 plus miles bar an accident. i would say get it fixed. it is to bad that they didnt remove the heads when they had it torn down to replace the waterpump. it would not have taken that much longer to remove the heads. hosannah8@gmail.com wrote we are having severe problems with our van overheating. so far we have replaced the waterpump the tensioner the radiator - to a tune of $800 + we cant afford more - couldnt afford that. but it is still overheating. now the mechanic is telling us there is a very small leak in the head gasket that is causing it. is this possible we dont want to burn up our engine and want to get it fixed but my fear is dumping another $800 into it and still not having it fixed - any ideas....please help. my husbands job depends on this vehicle running right. thank you arleine .
