well tell me when shopping for a parts 97 ram how do you know when youve found one with a good motor i dont trust ouija boards. the idea did occur to me to take it to a private shop but the dodge dealership 1 will give me a 12-mo/12000 mile warranty thats good at any dodge dealer nationwide. no independent can offer that. 2 put me into a free loaner car. unusual yes but its a major cost repair. the loaner by the way was a brand new 06 caravan with only 5 miles on it when they handed me the key. not my choice of vehicles for sure but its transportation for the few days theyll have my truck. by the way the caravan feels very much under-powered. dunno what mill is under the hood but the window sticker claims 19 city and 25 highway. the thing is a real slug. rske@sympatico.ca writes i had another thought -- buy a parts 97 ram with good motor and replace your motor and keep all the other good stuff off it -- if you have an acre like i do just push it into the bush and pick what you like when you like 1 hr to the nearest wreckers and you have a self-serve parts depot or have it hauled after. i might keep the old engine anyway in case you feel like tinkering and canibalising in the future when the new old engine dies or i have a perfectly good efi 318 out of a 91 dakota i havent used still in storage id sell for $100 cdn to get it out of the cargo van before spring hubby died change of plans rach hull qc remember me 97 ram 1500 318 v8 cyl #7 misfire problems at idle hold idle above 1000 rpm and no misfire. .

an interesting fix and a welcome design. -- max there are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty soap ballot jury and ammo. please use in that order. -ed howdershelt author actually yes you can change just the float...about $40.00 for the part. but the actual contacts are likely part of the pump assembly. i dont think they are. id rather repair the part than replace it. check out these repair procedures http//www.dodgeram.org/tech/repair/fuelsender/sender.htm http//www.dodgeram.org/tech/repair/fuelsender/hueyc-sender.htm -- ken .

jeremy politicalincorrectness@gmail.com wrote merry christmas yall! havent read the group much lately here but always was able to find the help i needed here before and i had a few questions for yall on the cummins diesel. i just bought an 05 2500 earlier this year and they took care of the first oil change for me but its that time again and im a little lost. i had a 360 gas engine in a 94 1500 before and got to know it pretty well but i cannot find the oil filter on the diesel yet. i also noticed that the drain plug looks to be a square indention rather than a normal bolt head so it looks like i need a new tool. anyone have any ideas on either of these for me additionally im supposed to have the engine block heater installed but it didnt come with the cord to hook it up. so ive got the cord now but i dont know where it hooks into the heater at. can anyone point me in the right direction thanks for your time and hope yall have a great christmas! -jeremy www.dieseltruckresource.com im manganos on there. congrats and welcome to our moneypit! .

@z14g2000cwz.googlegroups.com youre absolutely right - its best to replace everything for the best sound. the whole system is only as good as the weakest link. understood ... however is there is solution for the shmucks like me that opted for the gps is the head unit so bad if i replaced everything but that ... craig c. i guess it depends on how critically you listen. id install new speakers and an amp retaining the oem head then listen for a week or two. at that point youll probably know what you have to do if anything. .

im having a problem with my local dodge dealer. its tucson dodge if anyone is interested. called them and asked if there was a tsb on my truck about the fuel mileage. they asked for the vin number and i gave it to them. they said no tsbs on that truck. people keep telling me there is. so i called again same answer. someone on the mml emailed me a link to thishttp//dodgeram.info/tsb/2004/18-037-04.htm so i called the dealer back and asked why i was not told about this and had to do my own investigating to find it. they gave me the run around and im a tad upset about it. they actually told my this procedure may reduce the fuel mileage. how can i find out what the truth is and how can narrow down my searches to find tsbs for this truck and is this worth doing http//dodgeram.info/tsb/2004/18-004-04.htm al .
