Q: cables are all good looks like it was the voltage regulator. rk on may 1 111=a0pm bob az rwatson...@aol.com wrote so what do i do here does any of this make sense to anyone where else should i be looking or what else can i test thanks rk check the voltage drop from the alternator to the battery positive post when hopefully you are charging or supposed to be charging the battery. also the voltage drop fom the battery to the starter when starting the engine. battery cables can go bad on the cable itself and not show any damage. bob =a0az .

thanks to all who responded to i have a 98 dodge ram 1500 4x4 about 2 weeks ago my i loaned it out and they ran it out of gas... couple things; 1. this 98 dodge ram has no in-line fuel filter. its not on top nor under the truck in-line with fuel tank. 2. if this ever happens to anyone and you cant figure out the problem disconnect the battery and let it set 5-10 minutes then re-connect. this resets the computer inside and completely shuts everything down. i guess there is an iac motor dont know what it is or what it does which apparently has something to do with the fuel pressure system well i did exactly that i disconnected the battery and then after 10 minutes reconnected and my truck seems to be running fine. its the stupidist thing. anyway thanks again to all who responded. thanks gina gina@duffertech.com iac = controls the idle speed your vehicle is now reset back to factory defaults. after it learns what settings to use your problem may reappear which will be an indication that you do have a faulty sensor somewhere. in a ten year old vehicle id suspect some cruddy connections. o2 sensors need to be swapped out on a regular basis as routine maintennance. some software only looks for shorted or open sensors and wont give a fault code if the sensor is out of range. get a manual with the sensor specs and test every sensor. .

nathan w. collier wrote i currently have a prodigy that has served me very well. today i had the 5th wheel hitch installed in my new dodge and while there the dealer showed me the new p3 from tekonsha. it was so new at least to him that he had to call for pricing information. he says he will sell it to me for $169. he says its better than my prodigy but could not tell me exactly how. the prodigy can be installed at an angle but the p3 has to be horizontal sorta tough to do in the dash of the new dodge. the p3 can be mounted at any vertical angle unlike the prodigy which must be no more than 60 degrees or so. the p3s only mounting requirement is that its front/rear axis must be parallel to the trucks front/rear axis same requirement on almost all controllers. $169 is rather steep. campingworld is $159. rvwholesalers.com is $129. .

the fact is the economy is doing fine. down a bit but not terrible at all. the real killer is the fuel prices not the housing market. and yep thats all tied back to the housing market. but the economy and the stock market havent crashed just the housing market. dont believe everything you read in the papers. the job market has pretty much crashed as well. roy max everyone is entitled to his own opinion he is not entitled to his own facts. sen. daniel patrick moynihan of new york mac davis wrote oh.. if you think the crash is a myth i have a house you can take over payment on in california... it only went from $320k to 200k in a year or so but since its a myth... thats an entirely different matter. the housing market ballooned and was way over inflated for a few short years. it went through a correction. it has little to do with economic issues. your 320k house was probably a under 200k just 3-5 years ago. thats the way it is here in phoenix. current prices are just above what they were 3-5 years ago. california is a tad different with massively over inflated prices for many years. people finally cashed out moved to cheaper states such as az and drove the prices up there. no way could it sustain itself. a correction was well predicted. once again miles you dont seem to see the big picture. the housing bubble and its aftermath is the reason for our current bad economy which is every bit as bad as the suggests for the majority of people especially combined with the current commodities bubble driving up the price of just about everything while wages for many are stagnent. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving .
