Q: yes; when you push the piston back on the front calipers and the cylinders back on the drums - open the bleeders and block of the hoses clamp them lightly to avoid pushing dirty fluid up the hoses and into the brake system. most systems do not like dirty fluid being pushed backwards and pushing caliper pistons back often dislodges dirt - right into the abs controllers etc. when pistons are back release the clamps and leave the bleeders open - and the system will gavity bleed for you. the more and cleane rthe fluid you add the better. failing to do this can prove to be very expensive on some systems 90s ford f series gm light trucks - and most others! also saves the bleeding hassle! .

i fully agree with the other posters.....order the shop manual. it makes for good reading. i also believe that a cd should be kept and used as another poster suggested. print the section needed single sided so it can be laidout while working. also get some clear heavy duty page holders for printed pages so you can mark them up as work is being done grease pencil and be cleaned for next job. henry are there manuals out yet for the new generation models i have checked the web the best i could and all the local dealerships. the dodge dealer wants $100 for one. i have one i bought of ebay for $10 in cdrom format but its 2800 pages. i would spend more in ink then i would buying the $100 manual. plus the dodge dealer one is most likely a shop manual not as detailed as a haynes or chilton. thanks john .

has anyone put on a cat back after market system and noticed a power improvement. i know they tell you get more horsepower but is it worth the 99 ram 5.2 auto. i got 3 cat back duals from summit. less than 300 if i remember correctly. not much improvement in power but nice deep rumble. im going with a cold air package and a power programmer in a couple of months. dave .
