8-lug wheel compatability.....

Q: so i have 16.5 wheels sorry abnout my bad luck i know 8-lug 1-ton van i know i am going to have to go to 16s i could go to a junk yard a get a set for about 60 bucks paint them up nice etc. what if i wanted to swap on a set of 8-lug from a newer then 73 vehicle i have already been told gm wheels will not work ford wheels look a little different but will be ok i dont need any bling-bling rock crushing fancy rims but if i do find somthing a little nicer then the local yard has to offer i would like to know they will fit i dont know much about back spacing other then it would seem to give a wider stance. i do have clearence issues with the stock front wells cant go big; wheels rub on frame/brake lines during sharp turns mainly highway miles but i do go off-road desert and mining as well .

watch that junkyard stuff..i bought 4 for my truck..3 were bent ! the guy said theyre yours now - how do i know you didnt bend them get a 30 day warranty ! be sure to measure your center hole too. .
