does the fass system replace both the lift pump and the injection pump or just the lift pump thanks nathan in montana http//concealedcarryforum.com .

if youre working against a budget not a budget issue im just looking at the justification for spending 6x more for the fass system over the standard lift pump. thanks nathan in montana http//concealedcarryforum.com .

97 caravan passed every test california smog; but failed with mystery explanation of bcm not communicating with ccd. all the body functions work lights door locks airbags and engine light comes on then goes off at start up. bottom line is with what seems to be unrelated to smog incomplete drive cycle from the state sponsored test machine i cant get the new tags... smog guy says take it to the dealer ouch; dealer says it may be a bad connection any/all tips gratefully considered .

i can get a new lift pump for $90 or a fass system for $600. sell me on the fass system. more reliable rebuildable motor better filtration big-rig style water separation if youre working against a budget then at a minimum put a new factory lift pump in so you start with a known quantity and install the fuel pressure gauge so you know if the pump starts to go south on you. .

tom lawrence wrote ...i can run a 3 micron filter on it... the 95 series fass filters are limited to what dpp decides to sell. its a one-off fass dealer only cartridge made by fleetguard. not long ago the 95 series fass filter was dpps ff2010 10 filter. recently the ff2010 was discontinued and replaced by the dpp ff2003 3 filter. if you get the 95 series fass you use 3 filters. the fass 150 series can use fleetguard and cim-tek filters in your choice of filter media and micron ratings. -- ken .

on impulse i purchased an 01 cummins dodge yesterday didnt you just get finished having a talk with your wife about your impulse buying habits! running on its original lift pump and high pressure oil pump. should i replace the lift pump now just on principle or should i continue to run it at the risk of taking out the high pressure oil pump if i need to replace it what better options are available than oem i would replace it and also install a fuel pressure gauge ive had an autometer 0-30psi electric on mine for several years now and it has yet to destroy the sending unit as some have claimed would be a yearly occurance. i second the recommendation of a fass. its been very reliable for me i like the longer life of the bigger fuel filter i like the fact that i can run a 3 micron filter on it and accessing the water separator drain is so much easier than the factory drain. however i dont recommend it for an off-road rig unless you build a cage/skidplate for the pump/filters. .

undeliverable. the funny thing is that the trucks at the other 2 dealers were sold before i got there; the first dealer could have had an easy sale. in 2004 i purchased a new 3500 cummins/ram from lithia dodge in billings montana. in 2005 i purchased a new 3500 cummins/ram from lithia dodge in billings montana. see both at http//inlinediesel.com/trucks/3gen/1/index.html yesterday i found myself back at lithia to purchase a 2008 3500 cummins/ram mega cab 4x4 and was quoted a price that i considered fair but wanted to think on it overnight so that my wife didnt accuse me of making another impulse purchase ok im bad for that. the paperwork was done credit approved all that was needed was my signature. i went back today to purchase my truck and was told that the price i was quoted was good for yesterday only. the jackass salesman told me that if i wanted the truck today that it would cost me an additional $2000. at first i thought he was joking and when i realized he was serious i was both dumb-founded and almost offended. he stated that the sales manager was firm on his offers and that they are for that day only. what an assinine sales manager to let his ego get in the way of selling trucks. i was fully prepared to buy the truck today. not only did they lose a sale they lost a returning customer who buys new trucks every 1.5 years on average. shame shame lithia. its time to take a closer look at what ford is putting out these days.....and if i dont like the new f350 ill search for another dodge dealer. one thing is for sure i wont spend another dime at lithia dodge. -- nathan in montana http//concealedcarryforum.com http//1911talk.com http//hipowertalk.com http//glockcarry.com http//p99sw99.com http//ppstalk.com http//p7talk.com .
