5th Wheel Hich Position?

From : nehmo

Q: was at the local dodge dealer yesterday and picked up a brochure on the ctd engine. in it was a cutaway of the 04 or 05 engine. the dyno chart was the 05. anyway in the cutaway the flywheel was solid not a dual mass unit. anyone know for sure if the 04 and/or 05 used a dual mass flywheel al .

was there a leak that you fixed or did you evac the system if none of the above id be wondering where the refrigerant went that gave you room to add 2 cans... no leak that was fixed or evac of the system. i regularly run my ac all year round including the winter . in spring i had ac then when we had a really hot day i turned the ac on and nothing .... just the equivalent to vents. i decided to borrow a friends recharge kit and i bought 2 cans of refrigerant. i noticed that my compressor didnt click anymore which told me either the pressure was too low or the compressor was bad. i checked the haynes manual and all the tests passed for the compressor to be ok. the final test was to use a paper clip and override the sensor at the condensor. when i inserted the paperclip the compressor started working. i added 2 cans to the low side and my ac came back within about 1/2 hour of constant running. its been running great for the past 2 weeks or so. air isnt as cold as it used to be but other than that im happy. -- regards slick willy 73 cb 450 95 xj 600 03 flstf - parted ways in late july 04 flhrci - entering geezerdom at a mere 32 ... remove the bendover to reply .

thanks for all the suggestions. now any recommendations on where to look for a good quality short/long block or companies to stay away from thanks again. on sun 24 jul 2005 144656 gmt steve scott sscott1@twcny.rr.com wrote the 5.9l motor in my 98 2500 quad cab has developed a lower end knock. its most noticeable on start for a few seconds but its always there just much quieter. this truck has about 100k on it. my thought is a rod bearing but i guess it could be a main bearing. other than this the motor runs strong. we pull a 5000 pound trailer about 200 miles every weekend for several months. were looking to possibly be pulling for longer distances next year. are there any reasons to not putting rod and/or main bearings in or is a short block the only way to go thanks for any suggestions. .

could somebody preferably in plain english explain the strategy in the tour-de-pew. or maybe even post a link to something that can explain it. im kinda following it a bit itd be nice for armstrong to win again before he retires but im lost to why the team has to stay together all the time. it was a big risky move to send ole george out to try to win that hillclimb when he might be needed to lead ole lance up the hill. wtf yep. because george might have a particular strength such as climbing hills. why does lance need to be lead up the climb does george get ahead of him and throw a tow strap back and drag his ass up pretty damn close. if lance is drafting someone the climb is less of a drag thus he is less tired while making his way to the top. because he is less tired if any one challenges after the climb lance can meet the challenge and likely beat them to the finish line. some of those climbs look damned steep and the bikes dont look like theyre going much over a walking pace. does drafting realy make any difference at that slow speed denny .

well with out a proper set of gauges not the one gage check method filling as per manufacturer instructions checking pressure chart based on ambient temperature checking the super heat temp a proper leak test properly evacuated the system because all the refrigerant was gone or had air entrainment more than likely not having been trained in automotive hvac or licensed as per the epa you have screwed the pooch and you are lucky you have not blown your compressor up and injured yourself. any one of the above is your problem. -- coasty semper paratus always ready remove the spooge to reply 1999 dakata 3.9l 5-speed 108k on the clock. i had to do a recharge on the ac about 1 month ago which required 2 cans. i got my ac back and am happy with it but i did notice that its not as cold as it used to be. in looking at my haynes manual it says not to add more than 2 cans from the recharge kit and my truck every bit of it. my question is why could i not add more than 2 cans the low side will only take what it can handle and once its equal to the internal pressure as the system it will stop taking the refrigerant right am i missing something i think if i add a little more i will get back to where i used to be in regard to the coldness of the ac. -- regards slick willy 73 cb 450 95 xj 600 03 flstf - parted ways in late july 04 flhrci - entering geezerdom at a mere 32 ... remove the bendover to reply .

my hitch is directly over the rear axle. vehicle is a 99 f350 cc 4x4 8 bed. hitch weight is 2300 lbs. handling is transparent. with the 5th wheel attached the truck is level. 5th wheel axles have been reversed to match the truck. a fifth-wheel trailer is one that has a hitch that connects to the towing vehicle at a point above the rear axle of the towing vehicle - not at a point on the rear of the vehicle as with a pull-behind trailer. for example this is a 5th wheel http//www.theironworker.com/fifth%20wheel%20trailer.jpg my question concerns position of the point of attachment lets say the position of the king pin. for normal pulling of the trailer where is the best point to have the king pin should it be directly over the axle of the towing vehicle or should it be ahead of the axle if ahead by how much in what ways does handling change if the position of the king pin is changed this page http//www.etrailer.com/faq/fifthwheelfaq.asp discusses using a slider arrangement to move the king pin for maneuverability. it doesn t discuss the optimum position for towing. instructions that came with a hitch say to mount 0 to 6 inches ahead of the axle but provides no further information. -- |||||||||||||||| nehmo sergheyev |||||||||||||||| .
