4x4 squeeking

Q: driving my 1995 ram 4x4 to alberta from bc i experienced slippery roads. i put my truck in four wheel drive and it started making a squeeling/squeeking noise. if i take it out of 4x4 its fine any suggestions would be awesome thanx .

maybe you should have a competent mechanic check it out any suggestions would be awesome ill start watching reality tv shows when i can vote people off the planet. .

anyone out there with an idea on how to determine which switch is bad and is this something possible to replace myself i know that a new headlight switch runs under $20 but i havent priced the multi-function switch yet. and im a little afraid to - it just looks pricey! i had this happen to me last year on my 95 ram. as joe mentioned there was a recall for the headlight switch but it wasnt just for diesels. when i removed my headlight switch it was obvious what the problem was... the damn harness had melted. i found myself not only replacing the switch but cutting and splicing in a new connector not fun at night in the middle of a parking lot lemme tell ya. at any rate its easy enough to remove the headlight switch eyeball it and test it with a meter. start by removing the dash bezel. apply the parking brake shift the truck into 1 ignore if its a manual tile the steering wheel all the way down. pull out the cupholder and remove the two screws holding it in place. remove the ashtray and remove the two screws there. now just pull the bezel forward. from behind disconnect the cigar lighter and power outlet wires. set the bezel aside. remove the two or three screws forget exactly how many holding the headlight switch in place. pull the switch out and disconnect the big electrical connector. with the switch in the headlights on position check for continuity between terminals b1 and h these correspond to the 12 gauge red/light green wire and the 16 gauge light green wire on the connector. if you have continuity between these terminals on the switch and everything looks ok with the connector and wiring jumper those two wires together on the connector and if you dont have headlights then its most likely the mf switch. this doesnt happen too often were both wrong. http//dodgeram.info/tsb/recalls/819.htm date june 1999 models 1994-1997 br dodge ram 3500 series note this recall applies only to 3500 series trucks built through october 21 1996 mdh 1021xx. .. .

youre only getting 25mpg outta your intruder i get close to 50mpg an its only a 4-speed !!! 1993 .

agreed....and although we do not wring em tight we do wring em out nicely settling in at 100kph/62mph for cruise speed. even accounting for the smaller u.s. gallon his 25 mpg only works out to about 32 m/imperial gal. .
