413 Chrysler Industrial Engine Queston

Q: iirc if the fuse link orange wire in bundle behind positive battery cable is gone you get that code as its part of the b wire and without it its not going to start on that car... is it a 5 speed by chance the automatics are wired a bit different. i thought id buy a little car to save gas as i now drive an hour to work every day but.. my 90 shadow has been sitting for several weeks while i did some body work painting etc. and now it will crank but not start up. when attempting to start it there is often a strong smell of gasoline. the trouble code it flashed was 41- alternator field control circuit open or shorted. the only work i did related to the electrical system was install new speakers a subwoofer and fog lights. i also replaced the hall effect sensor as i was having stalling problems. the haynes manual has nothing on this particular circuit if anyone could tell me where it is located on the alternator and also if a short elsewhere on the vehicle could trigger this error code and keep it fthe engine from starting i would greatly appreciate it. thanks . .

its just a song. . . and an incorrect one. someone from mopar magazine put up a challenge for a restored stingray to go up against his factory origional super stock dodge. someone took him up and they ran 3 races and the ss dodge creamed it every time. most ss had the real hemi not this phony knock off. what was in the vette a mouse motor roy -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving .

who died and made you the ney-nanny why are you advertising a ford in a dodge group -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving 83 ford ranger with a 2.8v6 the motor was rebuilt about 15k miles ago and i rebuilt the top end of the motor on 7/23/2003 and have put about 100 miles on it since. fresh valve grind valves lapped head gaskets cleaned to shine! the motor runs strong and runs cool. leaks no fluids has true dual exhaust. 4x4 works well with manual hubs have reciepts for lots of work on the transfer case clutch and alternator. rear and front axles are good trans and xfer case work like new. everything on the truck works even the original radio. has sliding rear window and the ultimate canopy. truck appears to be lifted 1 or 2 inches and has good 30 michelin off road tires on it factory upgraded wheels. starts/runs/drives/stops/climbs excellent. i took it for 100 mile drive on 7/24 with no problems even going up mountains!cooling system holds excellent pressure. passed wa state emissions in 6/2003. asking $1300 well worth your time to come and look at this awesome truck! come get a great deal! blue books at 1700! truck is located in tacoma wa. call carl at 206 293 5847 or e-mail carlsaiyed@hotmail.com for pics or answers to questions. carl .

its pretty much up to you. i would say a complete dual system with a crossover pipe just after the cats terminating in dual supertrapps out the back on the inside of the frame rails. its going to take some careful routing to clear the spare tire but any custom exhaust shop could do it without much of a problem. shouldnt crossover pipes be installed upstream of mufflers and cats .

now if they put a diesel in the dakota then you could do that. a nice 4cyl 4l cummins or the detroit diesel 4.2l v6. i really wish there was a conversion kit i could get. and the banks sidewinder doesnt count i would gladly trade in my 99 dak for a diesel dak... shoot i would even give up the bright yellow paint. even though i love how easy it is to find in the parking lot. thats one of the biggest reasons i wont trade in my truck now. they dont offer yellow. red blue black and silver and way too over done. far to common. oh ok so you get about 17mpg. i was thinking it was a smaller tank 14 gallons and i was about to say man i gotta get me one of them! carl how many gallons is your tank what engine do you have carl carl i have the v-6. i assume that trey is right...22 gal. tank. .

not in 62 when the song came out. they were still using the sonoramic on the wedge engines john. true but only on the full sized cars like the chrysler. the term sonoramic only refers to the over-the-valve-covers long ram the short rams used on the intermediate body s/s cars didnt use that name they were referred to as max wedge. john .

actually its lubegard jerry and like anything else in a bottle it wont fix a mechanical problem but it may help prolong the life of the internals its advertised as dispersing heat better and having a better friction coefficient. also reducing shudder in the lock up convertors. they make a variety of products. the power steering additive is supposed to even stop the squeal on a ford power steering pump which is a real problem i have used it with no problems but i didnt have many problems before using it either depends on how you feel about spending the ten bucks at napa carquest etc got a question fore you gary seriously .............. not to long back someone else was talking about the virtues of lubeguard. iirc he was flamed pretty hard so what would be the reasons for using lubguard and would all transmissions benefit by using it .

take the 2 torx head screws out of the door handle. carefully wiggle the handle assembly out a little bit and look in to see if an aluminum threaded rod has come unhooked. there will be 2 of them one going to the top latch and the other to the bottom latch. if it did come unhooked you can usually grab it with a long pair of needle nose and pull up on it to unlatch the bottom latch. then you can take the door panel off to get everything hooked back up. have fun! bg denny closed the rear drivers side door yesterday and now it wont open. feels like the latch is releasing but the door wont open. dont want to kick it open any suggestions the top latch seems to be looser than the lower latch. it moves about half an inch and that is all. alan .

by federal law the cat is warrantied by the mfr for 8 years and 80000 miles. this is regardless whether youre the original owner or not. if youre past 8/80 then someones been driving around for awhile with a cat thats been needing to be replaced because they all go out around 5 yr/50k miles. most people dont know about the 8/80 cat warranty because it isnt advertised. the warranty on the cat also includes replacement of the y-pipe again at no charge to the owner. .

-- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving extremists people that want liberals to stop telling them what they should/could drive are extremists no people that distort facts and basically lie because they dont like something but have no valid reason for it are extreemists and both sides have them. tbone wrote thanks. i read it and personally while it does have some valid data it looks much like the typical twisted propaganda that the extremists like to fabricate. .
