Q: last evening i drove my 06 2500 with cummins 30 miles in 4wd on the interstate. not over 45. it was snowing like crazy and the roads were glazed. whats the limits for using 4wd regarding if its wet or snowy and mph limits steve .

steveb wrote last evening i drove my 06 2500 with cummins 30 miles in 4wd on the interstate. not over 45. it was snowing like crazy and the roads were glazed. whats the limits for using 4wd regarding if its wet or snowy and mph limits steve driving down the freeway there really is no speed limit for 4wd. you usually have to be below 45 to shift in and out though. the problem with using 4wd on dry pavment is during corners. the front end doesnt like it and will let you know about it. but going straight with gentle curves is not an issue. you might see a drop in fuel mileag with the front axle engaged. ive heard that on big trucks mileage will go down with the transfer case engaged. but in my little dakota it didnt matter. -------- ..bob 2006 fxdi hot rod 2008 mustang coupe 2007 ram 2500 ctd/auto/4x4 1965 ffr cobra - 427w efi damn fast. .
