3/4 ton vs. 1 ton Dodge Ram Rears

Q: im in the market for a complete rearend out of a dodge ram for a project of mine and have several questions is there any difference between the rear pumpkin/axles out of a 3/4 ton vs. a 1 ton or is it the same unit with different springs what year did they start using disk brakes on the rear its my understanding that the rears were made by dana for many years but ive been told dodge switched manufacturers the last several years. if so who makes the rears now and how do they compare to the dana thanks any help is appreciated. hopefully the answers will help me locate the correct rear in a salvage yard. ron .
