318 to 225 swap?
From : steve hartman
Q: i have a 77 m-886 ambulance built on the w-200. my 318 is kind of ragged and i have access to a 225. the 225 is out of an 80 car single barrel. so im wondering about bell housings from slant 6 to the 727 as well as torque converters. true wont have as much power; but i dont haul much and top recommended speed for this vehicle is 55 mph anyway. the front runs 4.10s and the rear at 4.11s and ive got a special gizmo in my transfer case that cuts the front wheels out. so whas up wi dat montana thanks you. .

system! oh boy. http//www.iequus.com/productinfo.phpproductid=3165&categoryid=1103 i clicked enlarge image zoomed in on that some more and could read on the packaging that the procedure is to cycle vehicles ignition key then read fault codes then refer to booklet to pinpoint problems theres no code reader at all its just a pamphlet with the codes listed. and you can find that info for free. my stuff after this is clipped thanks for finding this site. ive sent them a message on their contact page asking for clarification regarding why i should spend $39.86 on that item and what is included in addition to a description of fault codes. ill be very surprised if i get a reply from them. -- john corliss . 222 343170 je9ts3df7vmg3mgt9c74jje85llqlpak99@4ax.com on tue 4 mar 2008 212215 -0700 steve hartman dumbneasy@sbcglobal.net wrote i have a 77 m-886 ambulance built on the w-200. my 318 is kind of ragged and i have access to a 225. the 225 is out of an 80 car single barrel. so im wondering about bell housings from slant 6 to the 727 as well as torque converters. true wont have as much power; but i dont haul much and top recommended speed for this vehicle is 55 mph anyway. the front runs 4.10s and the rear at 4.11s and ive got a special gizmo in my transfer case that cuts the front wheels out. so whas up wi dat montana thanks you. personally id look for another 318... i always had a fond spot in my heart for the 225 s6 but there are a lot of reasons that id never consider that kind of swap myself. .
