2007 Ram Remove overhead console (trip computer)??

From : huff

Q: on my 99 there are 2 tabs that are visible with the sunglasses door open. push the tabs in toward the front of the truck then the rear of the console drops a fraction of an inch then slides toward the back of the truck. after it moves a few inches hidden tabs in the front of the console clear their holes and the whole unit comes off. when i use front and rear im refering to the truck not the console as your looking at it from the seats. im installing a uconnect add-on and am thinking about mounting the mike and control pad to the overhead mini trip computer. anyone know how to lower it down and/or remove it clips somewhere or are there screws hidden behind the lamps perhaps i know the 2007 is new but im assuming the overhead console is the same as the 2006 and some prior years. only difference i can tell is that mine does not have a sunglass holder that some do. .

on fri 5 oct 2007 073346 -0500 ed m. ed@edmedlin.com wrote some wanted to know how things turned out with my ram rear differential problems with excessive play at the pinion. it turned out to be just an adjustment of the compression collar and tightening the retaining nut. basically just adjusting the end-play. they also replaced the rear universal joint. the shop checked for any metal shavings in the differential or any excessive heat after a 10mi drive at highway speeds and everything checked out fine. total bill was $50.00 even. there was never any leakage or noise so i guess it was caught just in time before any damage was done. i finally got a bit of luck to my side.......- ed for $50 bucks how do you know no competent shop could have pulled the differential out set the proper preload on the pinion bearing put the differential back in and checked the backlash for $50.00. beekeep well i guess i dont. the shop is a fairly well known 4x4 shop that is just down the road less that a mile away. i have not done business with them before and will keep an eye out for anything amiss. the shop has a reputation for doing things correctly and several 4x4 clubs have all their work done there. their major business is building and maintaining off-road and 4x4 vehicles. ed .

have you checked the freeze plugs ted ok my dodge ram leaks about a full radiator full of water in about 200 miles. i dont drive the truck much but anyways. the leak is from the rear of the motor. with the engine running and me on the ground drivers side i see it coming from the very rear up high about the middle of the motor valve cover area. any place in general i should be looking i know these things are prone to freeze plug leaks in the bell shousing but if i see the water there i know its not a freeze plug. intake manifold coolant cooled i really dont know a lot about dodges in general hell i have never stripped a piston engine. i have done a ton of rotaries but no piston motors. although im well versed around the outside of motors tho. anyways and ideas anyone have something similar to share .
