Q: anyone have a chance to fully open up their hemi i bought a 2004 1500 hemi oct2003 and have not yet been able to find a spot to just open it up. im curious where it tops out. .

no - in 7 months i havent - thus i posted i had not. not looking for a lesson on the speed rating. i was just curious about other owners and whether or not someone has found the top end. anyone have a chance to fully open up their hemi i bought a 2004 1500 hemi oct2003 and have not yet been able to find a spot to just open it up. im curious where it tops out. in 7 months of ownership you havent found a place to realize the top speed of your truck look at your tires find the speed rating it wont go faster than the rating. roy .

the governor is set at about 108 mph. for the 2004 hemi 1500 4x2. this is of course off the showroom floor with no added chipset or intake/exhaust. so technically my 99 dak can beat the 04 hemi had my dak 4x4 up to 115 before the truck was still very solid at that speed too! wonder why they cut back the new ram maybe because of its size so fords would have a chance. well i know the ford lightning will hit 140mph. real stable at that speed. roy .

thats crazy speed ratings has to due twith how a tire disperses heat nothing about top speeds my hemi topped at 110 .
