Q: obviously not many people bought them in past years why dont they sell 2004 dodge ram 2500 with short wheelbase. no is it possible to modify a 1500 to comply with gvwr 7720 certifies by dodge ill start watching reality tv shows when i can vote people off the planet. .

okay but i want one. is it possible to get one specially buildt to comply with a gvwr requirement of 7720 must be certified by dodge. what i want is to order a 2004 dodge ram 2500 short wheelbase or to modify a 1500 maybe with 2500 parts suspension etc. so that its gvwr 7720 or more. this must be confirmed and certified by dodge. one main reason the 2500 is not available in a std cab short bed is because that configuration wont meet the needs a 2500 needs to meetin other words would you put 3000 lbs of cargo in a short bed std cab pickup truck and drive down the road and feel safe in order for a vehicle to meet certain specs a lot of things have to be done its more than just springs that help you make a gvwr its suspension frame brakes axles tranny as well as other heavier duty components like a better cooling system and charging system so can you make a 1500 meet 2500 specs yes buy a 1500 truck than buy a 2500 truck then sell the 1500 truck now your left with a 2500 truck that meets your criteria! sorry for the sarcasm just trying to make a point! on a similar note i see places that offer to convert trucks to a dually now i aint planning to do it but in my case i have a 2500 v-10 all identical to a 3500 except the springs fenderwells and minus the 2 extra tires so in theory i can make my truck identical to a 3500 in every way but i do not know how or if its possible to get certified to carry a higher gvwr in my case i suppose a call to the dot would be a place to start but i wouldnt waste my time about a 1500 truck! 79 t/a ws6 455 hurst 4 spd blk w/ t-tops heavily fortified 4mpg 00 ram 2500hd qc v-10 4x4blk5 spd410 lsd 10mpg 98 intruder 1400 blk 5 spd 25mpg .

what i want is to order a 2004 dodge ram 2500 short wheelbase or to modify a 1500 maybe with 2500 parts suspension etc. so that its gvwr 7720 or more. this must be confirmed and certified by dodge. it is certainly possible to modify a 1500 to handle that much weight and handle it safely. however - it is impossible to do so and have it certified by the manufacturer. youre going to have to live with whatever governmental regulations apply to vehicles below 7720lbs. .
