2004 Dodge Pickup Carpet

Q: i have a regular cab 2004 dodge pickup and it has the rubber mat on the floor in the cab. is there a good source to get a carpet kit that will fit so i dont have to cut to fit maybe jc whitney thanks email mcrue1nojunk@hotmail.com please remove the nojunk from my email to respond....... .

tom lawrence wrote a data sticker with your gear ratio on it. also if you change to larger tires your speedometer will be in error unless you change the gear at the rear of the trans i dont know where it is located 97 was the last year of the speedo gear in the trans or transfer case in 4x4 models. speed is now calculated based on the output of the rear-wheel abs sensor. there are electronic boxes you can install to adjust for larger tires or you can have the dealer program in a different size theyll need to know the revolutions per mile number of the tire which can usually be obtained from the tire manufacturer. expect to pay $60-$75 for this which is still cheaper and more reliable than any electronic box you can get. see like i said there goes some more leaves off my shade tree! bill p. .

interestingly the dealer called and said that it is probably the engine crankshaft. they are going to scope it next week. will either rebuild or replace engine. advice as to any concerns this may causse gary i havent followed your story but the above sounds very very familiar. i purchased a new ram back in 1997 and within a week i noticed a vibration at a certain speed about 44 mph. went back to the dealer and they decided to balance all the tires. still vibrated. then they determined it was probably the engine crankshaft. this was the 5.9l engine. they torn the engine down replaced the crankshaft but the truck still vibrated as before except now it ticked like crazy. turns out they screwed up in replacing one of the lifters. they fixed that but the truck still vibrated. next they replaced the torque converter. still vibrated. they replaced the transmission. still vibrated. they gave up and told me it was normal for a truck after all it wasnt a cadillac. i screamed bloody murder so they called in the regional tech rep. he took a ride with me and said yup it vibrates and told me to start looking in the lot for another truck. he called the next day and the dodge engineers back in detroit wanted to do another test. they jacked up the truck and replaced the whole rear axle differential wheels etc with one from another brand new ram sitting in the lot. the vibration was gone. so much for those ase certifications they shipped all the stuff taken out of my truck back to detroit for analysis. i found out later that the gears in the differential were bad - out of spec and warped. eisboch .
