i was making my third oil change in my 03 ram w/ 4.7 v8 this afternoon and noticed a milky coffee colored residue on the inside of my oil filler tube. it looks like oil and water mix..that has gotten pretty hot and is now kind of slushy. i checked the oil that i dained from the pan and it was all black with no signs of water or the milky white substance. it looks like the whitish colored gunk is entering the tube from the pcv valve. has anyone else had this problem i thought the purpose of the pcv valve was to pull vapor and pressure from the crankcase i am just trying to figure out how so much moisture might have gotten and still be in the line from the block to the pcv assembly. i am going to take it to the dealership in the morning but just curious to see if anyone else has ever experienced this. thanks. .

im going to put a no slip in the rear of my 2k ram 1500 along with 4.56 gears. ive read alot about all lockers to figure out which one i wanted to buy. i also read about not putting anything other than a selectable locker in the front ram cad axle. now while doing my research i read about a few people installing no slip lockers in the front of jeeps using a cad axle. is there a difference between the d44 and the d30 cad axles the articles i read said the front no slip was 100% invisible. can anyone explain this .

im curious does that reader do anything more than the odometer display on my 03 when i do the key on-off-on-off-on thingy it spits out a code then you just look it up. now...for 40 bucks if the display said o2 sensor voltage instead of a code wed be cookin here. i also looked at the pdf manual available for download. it looked as if it were scanned by my 4 year-old. simply based on that i wouldnt waste the 40 bucks. the product quality is prolly the same. --mike hi has anyone bought the obd ii reader from harbor freight that they sell for $39.99 they call it call a universal code reader catalog no.46030-1hch. is it any good and will it work on my 98 dakota thanks alan to reply by email replace nospam with comcast in my address .

t-bonenospam@nc.rr.com wrote of course i do and so should you. the black box gives no information unless you connect something to it and the only reason that would be done is to see what was happening when an accident occurred. in my state and many others the vehicle is connected to the state on a yearly basis. the state inspection uses the obd port. wanna bet the the black box data is available at this port .
