Q: sunshine wrote hello i have a question for some of u all i have a 1990 dodge d150 75000 miles on it driving home tonight got out and smelled some rubber like smell burning we live in the country thought some one had a fire soldering but back to the point so i had my wife crank the truck and shift into nutrual where the drive shaft or tranny goes to motor the seal is busted friend of mine said the seal/gasket is about 9 bucks but u have to take tranny out to get to this my question is has this ever happen to any body or someone tell me about how much this will run please chris if the truck is drivable get some estimates. ask your friends and family for advice on finding reputable repair shops in your area. labor charges vary from shop to shop. if the transmission needs to be removed the labor charges will greatly outweigh the cost of the parts. .
