to start with i have worked on cars for 40plus years. with that being said i installed a water pump on my 1996 dodge ram 4 wheel withair. 5.9 cu. in. after i installed water pump got everything together the truck turned over but refuses to start. i might add i removed the fan and installed electric fans but they are wired directly to battery so should have no bearing on the no start problem.it has myself and my friends baffled. .

just got back in from pushing four inches of wet shit. i gotta say im impressed with those goodrich revos i got last spring. this was one of those snows that was almost slush but the pavement frozen by the time ya backed up to take the next swipe. im sure those blizzaks are a better snow tire but these do damned good for a year -round tire. now off to find the perfect tree.. denny thats good to know. i havent bought anything yet but the revos are shorter money and you say they work ill have to look at them. serious question. how much weight do you have in back about 1000 lbs total. 400 over the rt rear wheel well to offset the rest of the weight in the drivers seat... 400 pounds is not anywhere near enough to offset the weight of your fat ass!! bfg there i beat ya to it!! bg seriously 400 lbs of jd suitcase weights in the front of the bed. if it gets really deep ill put another 500 lbs of sand tubes behind the wheel wells. just a thought for ya. if you move the 400 lbs of weight behind the rear wheels you probably wont need the other 500lbs. roy youre right but i dont want that 400 lbs of cast iron to get a head start towards the cab if i do happen to hit something hard. i have them laying tight against the front of the bed under a rubber bedliner under a bolted down tool box. they shouldnt move too much. i set a 2x10 on edge behind the wheel wells and put the sand tubes behind the board when i need them. but hell what do i know some people say four wheel drives dont need any weight. g denny .

different scenario not what i was talking about. if and judging from the statistics not that often he gets pulled over kick him into the drunk tank then try his butt with no plea bargaining. bullshit he is driveing illegally and to follow your logic he will have an accident and perhaps kill somebody. but the difference is he was pulled over before itr happened. do you think a potential murderer should be delivered for capital punishment if hes caught before he commits the murder neither do i. what punishment for that roy i say its a form of 1st degree murder with a random victim and the states punishment foir 1st degree murder should apply 1st degree murder wtf are you smoking out there what are you drinking you dont want to be caught with or blamed for killing someone if you do it while driving where is the premeditation once again the decision to get drunk and drive in spite of having full knowledge of the possibilities. what if you have a heart attck and run over somebody different scenario as in an act of god. drinking is not regardless of the t-shirts an act of god its a choice. no not in the least. you have a history of heart attacks. you have another and run over some kid on the sidewalk. the result is the same both the guy oui and you killed somebody while driveing. no plea bargin. bye bye budd. lol do you have a heart / bp problem roy do you have diabetes have you had polio have you had a double bypass according to you i shouldnt even be allowed to drive at all. it is not the same case at all as my medications because the prescriptions fit my needs do not have any negative side-effects. i know a man years ago in in that took a prescribed dose of morphine each day that would knock a normal person out cold but it was what he needed to control the pain from wwii shrapnel lodged in his body. he dies you survive. by your standard it is 1st degree murder. bye bye budd no it is not roy. youre spinning things as bad as anyone in this group. no spin. ya have two dead people one driver was drunk the other driver had a history of heart attacks. lots of spin as you are trying to change the situation completely. . . .and yes ive been a drunk in my past. so you are advocating a set schedule of punishment drive oui ya get 5 years involved in a accident 55% at fault yer down for 1 year. you cant be serious. just because i disagree with you i cant be serious i guess you are serious then. pretty telling. maybe it is . . in that i see a need to get back to older values in this natiion with a lot less plea bargaining and more strict punishments. you cant be serious to think the current punishments fit the crimes. how about drug dealers getting the punishments for attempted murder and 1st degree murder if a customer ods how about child rapist/muderers i say tie a rope to his genitals 1300 feet long tell him his crime and shove him over the rail of the royal gorge bridge 1400 feet above the river. we are talking about driveing not the whole criminal justice sentenceing. hey you wanted to change from drinking and recreational drug use to prescribed medications. im hoping you werent also intending it to be a personal attack based on my health problems. budd .

certain of what the problem truly is. the final arbiter of whether warranty coverage applies to your repair is daimlerchrysler not the dealer. right... and the dealerships always follow the rules and never try and charge for something that should be covered under warranty... thats why i recommended she ask the dealer to run the vip that way there is no monkey biz and she will know the straight skinny. mike .

0633 indicates skim key not programmed in pcm im not familiar with the second code tom lawrence has an 03 if he doesnt chime in shortly ping him or email him. my guess would be her truck wasnt equipped with the sentry key system and that code is just always there. that or the pcm lost its secret key and therefore the sentry key system isnt working ie. any old key will start the truck. i might mention it to the dealer when its in but its not part of this particular problem. .

i have a 99 dodge 4x4 quad cab and the passenger side axle seal is leaking could someone tell me the procedure to fix it myself thank you youre lucky its the passenger side.... remove the center cap then remove the cotter pin from the axle nut and remove the axle nut need a big socket for this - 1-11/16 i think. loosen the lug nuts then raise the wheel off the ground and remove the wheel. it will be helpful to get the drivers side wheel off the ground too so that you can cycle the steering. remove the brake caliper by loosening the two 3/8 allen-head slide bolts. tie the caliper up to the suspension so it doesnt hang by the brake line. if this is a 1500 series slide the rotor off. loosen the three 1500-series or four 2500/3500-series hub-to-knuckle bolts from the back side of the spindle. these are 14mm 12-point heads so you need a 12-point socket. back them out about 1/4 or so then strike them with a hammer to press the hub off the spindle. strike each one in succession. once they bottom out loosen them a little more and repeat. once the hub has come loose remove the bolts and remove the hub. if the axle comes out with it thats ok. if not remove the axle next. pay attention to the orientation of the spacer ring and the brake dust shield. next remove the cad motor housing from the axle. its held on with four bolts. have a drain pan ready because some axle fluid will probably leak out. once this is off youll have access to drive the axle seal out its inside the axle just to the right of the cad opening. put the new seal in place and use a large socket and a long extension as a seal driver to drive it in place. have a helper watching through the cad hole to make sure youre in alignment before you start beating on it. with that lubricate the end of the axle with grease so it wont damage the seal and slip the axle back in place. verify its in position through the cad opening then re-install the hub spacer ring and dust shield. theyre a little tricky to get all lined up at once. i use a couple of screwdrivers stuck through the mounting holes from behind that act as alignment dowels. get two mounting bolts or 1 if its a 1500 started then remove the screwdrivers and install the others. torque these bolts to 125ft.lbs. slide the rotor back on 1500 series and re-mount the brake caliper. the slide bolts torque to 30 ft.lbs. put the axle nut and washer back on and snug the nut for now. re-mount the cad if the gasket came off in one piece you can re-use it - otherwise get a new one or use some rtv making sure to align the shift fork with the shift collar. put the wheel back on tighten the lug nuts lower the vehicle back to the ground torque the lug nuts to their proper torque dont remember these off-hand - check your owners manual - it should list the torque values then finally torque the axle nut to 175ft.lbs. install a new cotter pin tighten the nut further if necessary to align the cotter pin hole - never back off a nut for cotter pin alignment re-mount the center cap and replace any gear lube that you lost during the process. .

so there is no need to go in with guns blazing that will get you nowhere. oh yes there is. its amazing how much better the service got when i stopped being the nice understanding girl and turned into a flaming bitch. i only turned into a flaming bitch when the sevice advisor became so patronizing that it went beyond rude and became insulting. they would never have spoken to a man that way. after i opened my can of whoop ass they pulled out all the stops. i finally got to deal with the service manager who took me seriously actually contacted d/c with my truck concerns got answers from d/c actually fixed said problem and detailled my truck & gave me a free rental. so being an educated reasonable person doesnt work at this place. once they became customer service oriented & reasonable with me then i was able to put away the flaming bitch. but ill definintely make note to have them contact d/c regarding the vip inquiry for warranty coverage and get the prices up front for any diagnostic work. bev .

almost forgot to ask what is an apps i want to stick this on my list too and incase they claim ignorance id like to seem semi-intellegent. accelerator pedal position sensor. if its shifting from 4th to 3rd ie. same result as if you hit the o/d off button or floored the accelerator this is a likely source of the problem. but if its really dumping into 2nd gear at those speeds its not because of a flakey apps. at 85mph with a 3.73 axle ratio dropping into 3rd would put your engine rpms at about 3400. dropping into 2nd gear would have them at almost 5000rpm. when this happens at 85mph do the rpms go over 4000 .

says... bdk wrote michael.lday@sbcglobal.net says... i have a 2005 dodge ram 1500 quad cab st with the 5.7 liter hemi engine. this truck has an electronic throttle control and did not come with cruise control. can anybody tell me what i have to add to put cruise control on it. i assume because it has electronic throttle the cruise must be controlled by one of the modules but i dont know which one or what i need to add. hmm ive never seen a 2002 and up 1500 without cruise...even a stripped one the dealer was desperate to sell had it. along with the insane v6. bdk most dealers will order the cloth seat and cruise control upgrade. i know on my 2002 1500 it was an option. i bought the cheapest truck i could get; my carrying and towing requirements were not great. i didnt even know that i had the cruise upgrade until my wife was driving it on the highway the first time and immediately set the cruise. it was right under my nose and i didnt even see it til then. it was an option though. i actually liked the v-6 with the stick shift. sounded good and got better gas mileage than the 4.7 i now have in the dakota. if your towing demands are small it was and is a good engine. almost as much horsepower as the 4.7. john i drove a 4.7 2003 before i bought my truck and it was tolerable but i drove a friends dak with a 3.7 and i couldnt have taken it for long it was too gutless for me. kind of reminded me of my 77 power wagon a real slug when i bought it. top end was like about 75 into a good headwind and it took all day to get there. a thousand bucks in parts and a lot of work got it running pretty decently. when it ran. if dodge hadnt killed the 360 i never would have bought a dodge in 2003. the 318 and 360 choice in 2000 kept me from buying a ram back then. i drove a couple and the insane amount of pinging in the 360s totally turned me off. i had 3 of them and the first one in a 74 roadrunner was the only one i was really happy with. bdk .
