Q: .. .. ==== ==== 94 3 speed auto tranny doing a weird thing ............ from avengergtx@netscape.net ron hi all - i know i know this is dodge trucks but there seems to be a number of transmission knowledgeable people here........ my 94 acclaim 2.5 liter and 3 speed automatic tranny has only 45k easy miles on it and a few days ago the transmission began doing a weird thing. this only happens when you first start it and drive away. the tranny shifts fine from 1st to 2nd. then when it should shift to 3rd it acts just like it went into neutral. i take my foot off the gas and manually shift down to 2nd and then back to 3rd and then it shifts fine. from there on it shifts perfect in any gear including kickdowns. you can park it for a while and it is still fine. however if it is parked for several hours it does the neutral thing again. but only once and then its fine. is this a major problem or does it need something simple like a fluid/filter change by the way i changed the fluid/filter 2 years ago when it had 20k miles on it. thanks in advance........ ======= ======= the way i see it..... you got a few choices. you can check the fluid level if alls well there then...... you can change the fluid and filter if alls well there then.... you can go ahead and yank it out and get it fixed. marshmonster thinks....drainback ======= ======= .

i have a 1963 hawk motor home on a dodge chassis. i think it is on a one ton. single drive axle dual wheels. in my army days in the early 70s i did quite a few services on heavy trucks and it seems like those 5 tons were set up like this dodge ie the rear wheel bearings ran in differential oil. i seem to remember that we packed the bearings in axle grease anyway. should the bearings be packed right now they dont appear to have axle grease in them. and are undamaged. second question can someone tell me what the wheel bearings should be adjusted too also need to know about the front wheel adjustments. rear wheels are held on with a double nut and index washer. i havent pulled the fronts yet. i can do a car or pickup bearing job in my sleep but its been a long time since i did a heavy truck. cant help you but just want to say im tickled that someone has a dodge motor home older than mine 73 travette. gives me hope the thing may survive a while. .

expecting delivery soon. the dealer called me and told me that it was not shipped and moved to a storage area with a rs code. what is this about thought some of the experienced folks here might know. i do also have a ref # as well. try calling the number listed here http//www.dodgeram.org/buyinginfo/orderstatus.htm ignore the note that this was discontinued in march 2002 - i used this last year to get info on my 03. i wonder if the storage area in question is where we saw literally thousands of new trucks parked near st. louis on sunday at the site of the old fairmont racetrack il-15 and i-255 last summer the whole area was filled with white caravans being outfitted as usps delivery vehicles .

there is a sticker on every car/truck that tells you exactly how many oz. the system takes. it is under the hood usually on the upper radiator mount the underside of the hood or on a strut tower. hope this helps. .
