Q: im getting ready to purchase a 2003 ram to replace my 95. my question--how can i tell if it has a ho diesel i havent seen anything like badges or stamps on the engine itself but dont really want to just take the sellers word for it. it has an auto 4-speed i believe with the electronic transfer case. .

question--how can i tell if it has a ho diesel theres a white sticker on the drivers side of the valve cover actually a decorative black plastic cover that shrouds the crankcase breather and will list the engines rater hp and torque. if its an ho it will read 305hp @ 2900rpm .
