it appears to have been the gas cap. thanks for all the input everyone. once im done moving all my stuff out of the house remodeling ill crawl underneath to check everything else...just to know how all hoses are doing. -- ------------------------------------------ laszlo almasi ----cool toys formerly carolina watercraft works ----mack daddy trailers ----ice angels i stopped by the dealer to get one of those hoses....just in case. while i was there i learnt that there were 3 rams in for the samevcode and all three ended up being the cap. they had several in stock so i replaced mine and reset the dtcs....ill let you guys know in a day or so what the verdict is. -- ------------------------------------------ laszlo almasi ----cool toys formerly carolina watercraft works ----mack daddy trailers ----ice angels maybe i gave you the wrong location for the can i dont have a service manual for your truck in my hands here at the house and cant remember exactly where else they hid those things. hopefully tom or denny or someone else

passenger-side frame rail on the outside. ones round ones rectangular. i second the gas-cap... check that first. . 222 339158 8jthi.3343$sd4.2540@nlpi061.nbdc.sbc.com be prepared for of the rear end. i suspect the pinion nut has not backed off - rather it is the bearing gone bad and the pinion is loose as a result. let us know. yea.....i am prepared......-. the play in the rear end was not up-down-side to side but actual end-play but i do know if this had been going on for very long that it could very well damage the pinion gear and more. i will post the findings once they shop gets to the truck. i use a local small town 4x4 shop that is very well known for their jeep off-road and rock climbing teams and they have a very good reputation for their good honest work and reasonable pricing. they said they should be able to get it done this week. ed .

chris thompson wrote in response to .bob s post. i thought everyone should know mike wrote d o a wrote im thinking of buying an 02 4x4 ram slt with the sport package & was wondering if theres anything i should look out for. it has 120000 miles one owner & it looks mint. thanks for any info. the number one problem that all dodge trucks seem to have is poor carrier bearings in the diff. most of them only last 60-80k miles. park the truck on level ground. put the trans in neutral set the parking brake then shift to park. crawl under the truck grab the drive shaft and try to turn it. if you can measure the movement of the drive shaft the diff needs a rebuild. thats not good advice for several reasons. putting the trans in park may lock up the drive shaft so if there is any slop in the diff you will not find it. it is best to leave the trans in nuetral. second any slop in the ujoints will let the drive shaft move even if the diff is fine. also worn differential side gears and/ or cross pin on an open diff will also show up as movement in the drive shaft. thats the reason for putting it in neutral and setting the parking brake first then shifting to park. that should put all the weight of the truck on the parking brake and not the trans. but since he doesnt really know the status of the truck theres no guarentee that the parking brake actually works as it should. so leaving it in neutral might be a little risky. i wouldnt leav it in neutral unless i could also chock the wheels. but if you put it in park then the parking pawl will keep the drive shaft from rotating. chock the wheels and leave it in neutral with the parking brake set. the parking pawl has a considerable amount of play in it relativly speaking. thats why the truck rolls a little when you put it in park and dont set the parking brake. if the drive shaft moves enough to bounce off the teeth of the parking pawl the diff is shot. -- ..bob 2006 fxdi hot rod 2001 dodge dakota qc 5.9/4x4/3.92 1966 mustang coupe - daily driver 1965 ffr cobra - 427w efi damn fast. .

i have an 04 3500 ram with factory towing mirrors. i broke the drivers side mirror and have a replacement. the problem is how do i remove the plastic molding to effect the swap without destroying it two of the 3 mounting screws are clear but the top door molding is probably held by clips. in which direction should i apply force and how door trim panel - removal 1. remove the interior handle 1a. remove the screw from the underside of the handle and remove the inside handle. 2. remove the screws at the mirror flag and near the inside handle 2 screws caution trim panel is attached to the door using hooks molded into the panel. do not pull the trim panelstraight off or damage to the panel and/or power switch assembly may occur 3. lift the trim panel up off the belt seal and attachment hooks and separate panel from the door slightly 4. disconnect the power window switch electrical connector and remove trim panel side view mirror - removal 1. remove door trim panel above 2. disconnect the electrical connector and remove the nuts 3. squeeze the electrical connector tabs and remove the mirror download the entire service manual http//www.hemitruckclub.com/04manual/19078-drintlpdf.pdf .

bigironram wrote john carrington wrote http//i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff79/phire7632/grandfatherscar.jpg i think its a nash. my guess is 1930. check out the photos of nash cars through the decades at http//www.pnwnash.org. yes it looks more like a nash than that ford duece i posted the url to.... the bumper looks spot on to the nash. it was the radiator shape that i matched up with nash. the windshield base and visor are typical of several nash models. that radiator with the curved headlight bar and the body lines below the door window opening are difficult to match up. the radiator is common on 1929 and found on some 1930-1931 nashes. it looks like the curved headlight bar first appeared in 1930 but i cant find one with a curve quite as extreme as this one. the three vertical bars in the bumper seem to be hit-and-miss on the 1929-1931 nash. 1932 and up nashes used a single bar bumper. a side view of the car would be a great help but i think this is the only picture he has. -- ken .
