on sun 13 feb 2005 152720 gmt denny wddodge@woh.rr.com wrote first... shut up roy..i already know im ugly and the wife dresses me funny.. bg second lets say youre the proud owner of a 05 whatever with less than 1000 miles on it. you notice the left front parking light doesnt work and take it in to get fixed. lo and behold you are told its not just a bad bulb but the socket itself is defective and the only way to get it is to get a complete harness from the inst cluster thru the firewall and to the front lights. now the question is would you want even the most qualified tech to take most of your dash out and run a new harness everywhere under the hood or would you rather the dealer go to a boneyard and snip a connector off a donor vehicle and sodder/heatshrink it into place its only three wires and very easy to get to behind the headlamp assy. one hour vs at least a full day to replace the harness. no cost to you either way. what do you guys think denny how about having the dealer borrow the socket from another truck and do the fix mentioned... and maybe throw in a nice set of fog lights too.. *g* mac please remove splinters before emailing .

tom another point which drives the more frequent change schedule is that diesels do not warm up quickly and consecquently do not boil off the condensation water so easily. this water will mix with the residual sulpher in the oil and create acid which corrodes the oil very rapidly. so in short there are two reasons to change the oil more frequently and they are both temperature related. short trips too cold and severe duty too hot. both cases reduces the lubriction performance of the oil. i have $50000 in my rig. i cant imagine risking that to save $30 on an oil change. steve where are you buying 12 quarts of oil and a filter for 30 bucks delo 400 15w-40 ci4+ $6.48/gallon at wally world plus fleetguard stratpore filter at genos garage $9.95 + shipping = $29.39. stay with the 7500 interval and you wont go wrong. mike thanks i plan on it. we dont have a genos garage in dallas/fort worth. we used to have a jenos strip tease place on harry hines until they finally closed up. -- moparman---remove clothes to reply! --scud coordinates 32.61204 north 96.92993 west-- sure you have a genos garage in dfw. it comes in a big brown truck... http//www.genosgarage.com/ -- fmb only one b in fmb .

is too much smoke in a diesel i cant see it driving down the road but my truck sure gets dirty around the exhaust area. thats normal. do you have a dually the stock exhaust isnt long enough to clear the fender. get a 5 slide-on tip to extend the exhaust out a bit. another option is an exhaust turn-down - a 90 elbow that shoots the exhaust at the road. yes its a dually. thanks ill try that. -- moparman---remove clothes to reply! --scud coordinates 32.61204 north 96.92993 west-- .

jgreen2 wrote just bought a 2003 4.7l dodge ram with 60k miles. it used a quart of oil in the first 1000 miles i put on it. should i be concerned i bought a chrysler extended warranty so i am thinking about taking it in to the dealer and having them check it out. however i suspect they will say it is normal and i will end up wasting my time. anybody have experience with high oil consumption on the 4.7l engine mine has about 65k. it doesnt use any oil between changes. -- ..bob 1997 hd fxdwg - turbocharged! 2001 dodge dakota qc 5.9/4x4/3.92 1966 mustang coupe - daily driver 1966 ffr cobra - ongoing project .

greg surratt wrote depends on all. my 98 ctd came out of st. louis. right-e-o ... i guess i should have been more clear so i will restate are all *new* 2004+ ctds assembled in mexico mine was ... craig c. i believe the regular cabs come from stl and the quads come from saltillo. it took mine quad about two weeks to get from the plant to my dealership in stl. it has to go thru customs in laredotx. see if your dealer can give you the rail car number of the shipment and then you can trace it from there on the rrs website. mike .

my 1994 2500 van was a solid well liked vehicle till it committed suicide last week with 120000 on the clock....it stalled burst into flames and burnt to a crisp.....it was a problem free truck till that moment. i dont know the cause of fire....probably a freak failure but does give one pause.. thanks everyone for being positive in the last post. i appreciate you allowing me to ask here. also apologies for not knowing yiddish. im looking at buying a 1994 ram-250 at a local used car lot the going price is about $5995. im looking at this van specifically because it comes fully equipped with a wheelchair lift which i need. the van has 113600 miles on it but everything looks fairly good. it needs new tires but that seems a trifle compared other things like the engine. im going to have a mechanic look at the engine before i go any further but i was wondering if anyone here could offer some general advice about dodge vans. on average is ten years very old for a dodge van are the odds in my favor that itll last five more years are parts for a ten year old van hard to come by the price doesnt worry me. its the age and mileage that im unsure of and any suggestions or words of wisdom would be appreciated. thanks! andrew burton - tuglyraisin at aol dot com felecia station on harvestgain - jarod godel in second life .
